My man...Vicente Escobedo is fighting tommorrow night at our hometown in the Arco Arena...
He is fighting Daniel Jimenez of Puerto Rico, Vicente is the best prospect today and will be great one day.
Best of luck, I can't believe I get to see my favorite fighter in action, in my hometown..
It was a split decision which should have been a UD instead. The other judge must have been smoking. Escobedo looked slugglish and stiff. He didn't have much foot work and didn't box very well. This kid is way over rated. Not much of a prospect IMO.
its arite, Escobedo will bounce back strong I believe.
My boy Vanes Martirosyan was sad to hear Escobedo lost too. They represented the USA together in 2004 Olympics along with Andre Ward and others. Escobedo is the first Olympian from that group to lose a professional fight, so it must be tough.
They may have rushed his development a bit and tested him a bit too early. One loss doesnt hurt, he can take alot from this and come back strong.

Must be a sad time for you.
I hope Vincente looks better then he did in his last outing on ESPN...for a so called top prospect like he is he fought about as dull a fight as possible against a fighter who was very limited.
I will credit his last outing to televsion nerves but Im curious to see what the kid has because he showed me little in his last fight.
This should be a farily easy fight for Escobedo. I like Escobedo, but he needs to make his own style. He idolizes DLH so much, and does almost everything just like him. He needs not to be the next DLH, he needs to be the next Vicente Escobedo.
