Roy Jones Jr. was my favorite fighter. He was the reason I started watching boxing. His pure skill and natural ability made me an instant fan of his.Of course I want him to retire now cuz he's not the same fighter but RJJ was the best fighter of the 90's and noone can take that away.
I voted for DLH. I loved watching him growing up in the 90s.
However, Erik Morales. Man... I'm a pac fan but watching him lose by KO was painful to see. So sad... it was the end of the era where he was unstoppable.
To be honest, the fighters I missed the most from the 90's was The Prince and Oscar De La Hoya. Nothing reminds me more of being young and falling in love with boxing than Prince Naseem's entrances and entertaining fighting style. When I saw Prince enter the ring to the Kelley fight, I was instantly addicted to him. And another thing is watching Oscar De La Hoya being a dominant fighter and being larger than life in and out of the ring. De La Hoya Mania is something like what we will never see again in boxing. There will never be another cross over fighter like De La Hoya.
I think for me it's Erik Morales, my second favorite fighter...Ive always loved his style of fighting. When he goes the sport will have lost a legendary fighter. Another one would be Mike Tyson ur right he didnt achieve the greatness that he could have but he was still unpredictable and explosive. :boxing:
A prime DeLaHoya can hold his own with any fighter in any era. Oscar is one of a kind , thats for sure.
Even out his weight class? Wouldnt that be like matching a 30lb pitbull with 70 lb pitbull?
I already miss the prime Oscar Delahoya...
Growing up watching the sport I never realized how special a guy like Julian Jackson was with "holy shit" 1 punch knockout power. He certainly wasnt the best fighter of his era but he was a one of a kind thats for sure.

I know there were better boxers from this era and I know Mike Tyson did alot of bad things that hurt his image and the sport. But is anyone else going to miss the complete unpredictability that was Mike Tyson's career? Even if you hated Tyson, give him this much, his career was entertaining, you didn't know what he was going to say or do next...lol :D

No, problem. Erik Morales deserves the recognition. He always came to fight and give his best effort. And when he lost he went out on his shield. But he will be back and avenge his defeat.
never an excuse during or after a fight.
