Just watched tapes of his on maxboxing tv and damn he is tuff. He owned Jose Cruz and Morales. He seems to have gone ring awarness and boxing ability besides his power. If he learns to pace himself he is gonna be the champ someday.
THe guy's got an awesome record, but I'm waiting to see him fight a slick boxer. I don't think his awkward stance and power will hold him up to ten rounds.
Sparring is one thing and judge compitition is another. Robbi Pedan had got the best of Barrera in sparring. Sam Soliman has got the best of Kosyta Tszyu, Oliver McCall has gotten best of Tsyon, Paul Spadafora has gotten the best of Floyd Mayweather. With that said, Valero did do good in his sparring with Morales that can only make him better -example Jose Luis Castillo.
yup yup... mosquera is next
that will be a big step up for valero in terms of competion, if and when he beats mosquera, for sure he will make a lot more heads turn...
Thats true but he has owned some great sparring partners and i think he will move up in class and succed.
I'm with you there man.
He's an exciting fighter, a hard hitter, and definitely would be a huge draw if he continues to fight at his success level against guys who are considered solid opposition.

I agree with your general sediments. Lets go ahead and keep something in mind however; He's been fighting guys who:
A.) Make too much noise pounding the pipes with wrenches during the day, and have gone deaf as a result not being able to hear the bell ring in between rounds.
B.) Are really too tired to fight because they spend the entire day riding a bicycle on a paper route.
C.) Should be fighting a few weight classes above when they actually drink water, and their weight centered around how many doughnuts and toaster strudels they can force down their esophagus.
