Fighting a whole fight like that is called stupidity. Very true. It was funny/stupid/sad all at the same time.

Yeah, I'll never defend some of Emmanuel's strategy. The wild style he started using was, he says, a way to confound an opponent because so many boxers are trained robotically- both in how they move and how htey expect an opponent to move. That means taking rounds off where he only intends to frustrate an opponent by blocking/avoiding punches and so forth. At times it is brilliant, like versus Ward or Burton, other times it looks terrible, like the Dorin fight. Its like that line from Spinal Tap- theres a fine line between clever and stupid, and I'll agree Emmanuel can cross the line. But again, I disagree with calling the guy a loser or doubting his skill and heart. Even his style choices I wont diss because although its hurt him at times, at least he has the balls to try something different. He's had a rocky career (mostly his fault, but at some key times not), was never coddled with good graces like some fighters, and has fought to make a living every step of the way.

Add to this taking fights on very short notice, fighting for fun (example fighting Leonard Dorin with his hands at his waist the whole time)... Fighting a whole fight like that is called stupidity.

Look around, no one said they were ALL unjust. But, in a couple of fights where a victory meant bigger things for him, fights he was winning, the hometown crowd/corrupt judges have screwed him. Yeah, its barely a handful, but its still worth noting. So, you are dissing him for being a fighter? For not wanting to quit, for having guts, for being angry at his corner for stopping the fight? If he would've quit- himself, it'd open the door up for guys (like you I assume) saying he had no heart. It's hard to believe all his 20+ losses were unjust. Look around, no one said they were ALL unjust. But, in a couple of fights where a victory meant bigger things for him, fights he was winning, the hometown crowd/corrupt judges have screwed him. Augustus has never grumbled any more than any other fighter who's taken a loss. It smarts. It hurts. Especially when you are struggling and you come up short (for whatever reason, sometimes fair, sometimes unfair) in a match that could be a breakthrough to some big matches. It's really useless to argue the score in the Ward Augustus fight. It was very even, and the knock down was enough to slide it Ward's way narrowly. I could see Augustus edging it, but it was no robbery. Debating a decision that was that close is kind of futile. There is no right or wrong answer in a fight that tight.
