First off I would like to congratulate all the Limeys for a great Calzaghe performance. I predicted that Calzaghe was going to surprise many Americans, but I was disgusted with some of the events that occured. While watching the Hatton/KT, Lacy/Joe Calzaghe fights, I noticed that the officiating in UK is horrible. I will not blame the fighters for doing dirty tactics like Calzaghe(holding Lacy left hand and hitting him) or Hatton (holding and hitting behind the head while holding), I blame the officails.
Now I understand why some American fighters do not decide to fight in the UK and visa versa.
Did anyone else notice the bad officiating? If so what did you notice?
If that was Joe or any Brit fighter they would have been pulled out, seriously that was pure arrogance by Lacy's corner, Lacys a warrior he would have fought on forever its their responsibility.
hopefully lacys life goes on,
he aint out of hospital yet
Of course. Lacy's own corner should of been more compassionate though as he was on a hiding to no-where from round 8 onwards, hopefully he ain't in too bad a way though...
yeah theres no basis for this thread. calzaghe beat jeff lacy...no ref would have saved lacy. i'll repeat that...no ref would have saved jeff lacy, unless he dq'ed calzaghe for pushing lacy down or something.
jeff lacy was by no means americas best prospect. the man in my sig is. (of course columbia born, but he will represent the US)
Yeah he represents the US big time with those Colombian flag shorts of his!
I dont think you actually saw the fight or you would have seen Lacy holding on for dear life in the closing rounds. Live with the fact that America's "best" prospect was throughly beaten.
As I said Calzaghe won impressively, but Calzaghe was Holding and hitting throughout the fight and that is not legal in any way.
So Lacy wasn't excessively clinching or hitting low either??? 6 of one, half a dozen of the other... Joe shut out a supposedly better Lacy, now give the kudos to JC and leave it. This pointless bashing to make Lacy look less pathetic is pathetic in itself

and insult us brits at the same time
but owned your own ass as the ref was puerto rican
