Is this the guy from Contender season 1?

February 12, 2006 At Dunkin Donuts Center, Rhode Island (ESPN) Peter Manfredo Jr. vs. Scott Pemberton yes he is from the contender. not a bad fighter at all. he should be able to give a good effort in the ring.

I have heard of a few manfredos, that's why I ask, and I'm surprised he's fighting Pemberton.

mora dominated manfredo in the first fight, almost ko'ing him twice. that fight wasnt close. the second was disputiable For the first fight, Mora was fresh and had not fought for a while, Manfredo on the other hand had fought the week prior, and that fight was not easy. He fought Gomez. Fighting 2 weeks in a row cannot be healthy especially when you are actually affected by the first fight. The second one was def. controversial. I don't see how Mora won that fight. Not that it matters anyway.

the contender was the dude from Sly and leonards boxing show right?, what ever happened to the guy from DLH's show, wasnt it called the next great champ? wasnt it otis griffin or soemthing like that?

Hell no. He got whooped the first time against Mora and the rematch was no robbery. A close split decision that could've went either way.

I would love to see Mora fight someone of note, and catch a beatdown. He's an arrogant prick. He is a decent fighter, but lacks punching power(3 KO's in like 20 fights). Plus he has so many people in boxing kissing his ass. Fucking Teddy Atlas was drooling over him in the rematch fight and made it sound a lot closer than it really was (still think he won it, though).

Yes. Manfredo got beat by Alfonzo Gomez, then beat him in the rematch. He made it to the final, where he got UD'd by Sergio Mora. Then he was absoloutely robbed in the rematch.
