I had this weird feeling after watching Saturday's fight with Judah-Baldomir.
Baldomir picked up one belt from Judah and Floyd doesn't have a belt in this weight class. So it would be logical for Floyd to fight for that belt.
But considering Floyd fought Gatti and Mitchell last year, fighting Baldomir would be a grave mistake for two reasons. 1)It would give his ditractors more ammo by saying he's 'Roy 2006' (and they might have a point if he fights Baldomir) and 2) Floyd killed the momentum he had after beating Gatti. It was after beating Gatti where people were talking about Floyd headlining PPVs.
Not anymore. The arena for the Mitchell fight was empty.
I just thinking Mayweather-Baldomir is on the horizon, as well as the unfair Roy Jones/Mayweather comparisons.
Here are my thoughts. I he wants to go after the belt thats cool with me. And it will make sence. He likes money and the more barganing chip on his side the better, when he goes and asks for his usual 70/30 split. For the fights.
are you joking? I don't care what Judah does the rest of his career, this fight will never be appealing! WITHIN THE YEAR? Are you really that stupid to think this fight is gonna happen within even 3 YEARS?! JUDAH LOST TO CARLOS BALDOMIR.
I have a different opinion than you on that. Your just a confrontational dude. You would like me to say, YEAH DIEGO! FORGET JUDAH!!! HE SUCKS!!!HE WILL NEVER FIGHT ANYONE GOOD AGAIN!!!But who knows he might be able to get back on the right track. Your not god and neither am I so who really knows what will happen. Its all speculation...
There is STILL Zab (he still has two out of the three belts), theres STILL Hatton, STILL Margarito, STILL Kostya.
Zab has no belts. The WBA and IBF are vacant. I, for one, don't want to see Baldomir get smashed by Floyd, and considering the fact Baldomir won't even give Zab a rematch, I doubt he wants any of Mayweather. Floyd could easily fight for one of the vacant belts, or he could always do the 140 thing, and go after Hatton or Cotto. Being the best fighter in the world has it's advantages, and Floyd should go after one of the bigger names out there, and only face Baldomir if absoloutely necessary. I honestly don't see Baldomir making even one successful defense.
I still think a Judah vs. Mayweather may happen in the future. If Zab can get back on track, and Floyd stays on track, we still could see this fight. Maybe very late this year or early next.

I sure hope so, it all depends on their future fights, this is a very interesing match up, time will tell.
This is the fight that makes sense after Judah's downfall last weekend, against Cotto too.

Zab does not still have the other two belts. They are vacant.
Margarito has a fight scheduled with Shotgun Gomez that will still take place according to Arum.
Hatton isn't going to happen anytime in the next 6 months, possibly even the year.
And Tsyzu is in semi-retirement.
Who really does that leave?
I know their are still better sub-par guys than Baldomir out there, but they don't have the WBC and Ring belt. Something PBF doesn't even have at 140. (Ring Belt)
Floyd has to fight a LOT of nobodies in succession before you can call him Roy 2006. Floyd's fought Corrales, Castillo, Chavez, Corley, and Gatti since 2001. He's a looooooooooong way from the bums Roy spent his career whooping up on.
LMAO!
So you're saying you got to put in alot of bum-work to get the Roy status?

I'm definitely fine with it. Everyone including Floyd was looking forward to the Zab fight but shit happens, and Baldomir is the legit champ at 147 now.

Somewhat. If Floyd wants the belt, well go ahead and go get it.
It wasn't his fault Zab messed up.
Honestly, who else do you think he will fight? Everyone's kind of booked up at the moment or they aren't interested.
You're fine with Floyd fighting Baldomir after he just fought Gatti, Bruseles and Mitchell?
Who cares. Baldomir has the belt, Floyd should go for the belt. It ain't his fault Zab got his ass whooped.
Yeah, you can def look at it in two ways.
Floyd loves the WBC belts and it'd be an easy fight for him to pick it up at. Can't really fault him at that, had Zab did his job he would've fought Zab. Baldomir beat Zab. So why not go grab the belt?
The momentum thing is true too, after Gatti everyone was waiting for PBF to take on that challenge. Obviously, this would delay it another fight.
