"On the whole I think the welterweight division looks great right now. It’s full of contenders and elite fighters. My guess is that Mayweather will win the WBC welterweight title from Baldomir on April 8th or another date. Hatton v Gatti looks set to happen in May at 147lps as Hatton is looking to get his name known to the US audience and who better to choose than a people’s champion like Gatti."
- from an article from some place on the "East" cost of the internet boxing world... ;)
So is Hatton-Gatti all but set assuming Gatti gets past his next fight?
This is still a great fight. While it may be more on the lines of Tito/Mayorga, it was still an entertaining fight.
IMO, Hatton is just wasting time on a guy like Gatti. I expect Hatton vs Gatti to look a lot like De La Hoya vs Gatti. Unfortunately, the Mayweathers and Judahs out there don't want much to do with a guy like Hatton, so he'll have to be content with whatever shot, inflated 'people's champ' (as someone said) is willing to take an ass whoopin' for some cash. I'm really hoping that after Judah's poor performance that maybe Hatton and Mayweather could work something out. But pretty boy is probably much too pretty for that.
This could be an entertaining fight for the first few round, until Gatti starts to struggle with Hattons non-stop pressure.I will go for 4 close rounds then Hatton to dominate the next 3.
Hatton tko 7.
Yep, totally agree!
