I, myself, have very little interest in this fight.
But, I am wondering about something, & it's something that centers around the unique & strange way we fight fans view things....
If Bernard Hopkins convincingly defeats Roy Jones, are they even-up in their two-fight series ?
Jones won the first fight. It was a competitive fight, yet one that Roy won handily.
But, don't we all agree that neither guy was at their best at that point ? Weren't both quite "green" ?
Well, now they are at the opposite end of all that. They are far past their best. So, we never got to see them square off at their best.
Should Hopkins be given credit for standing the test of time better than did Roy Jones, should he convincingly defeat Roy ?
I'll put it this way. If Hopkins wins this time, it's more than even. I'll remember Hopkins as the better fighter.
thats stupid...like saying danny williams will be remembered as better fighter than tyson cos williams beat tyson at end of his career.
One of them might win? You're kidding me? In a fight with 2 fighters, only one of them is going to win?!?! This is insane, I demand explanations.
you never heard of a draw? also, he might have meant one guy will actually win convincingly as opposed to them just posing the whole fight and one guy winning a "decision" on the cards. the judges will have to score this fight on expressions and dance moves because I'm predicting less than 30 punches landed. so it comes down to how you score. do you like Jones' ass shaking or Hopkins' mean looks?

Draw.......
i dont think this fight will end up happening. they will pull the plug on it. but if it does go through, one of em might win, which will mean nothing.

what i would like to know is how a guy lost only 2 fights very close fights to the same guy and now his career is over . i could see if he was beat by taylor and who ever but it's just one guy that had his number ...boxing has the worst case of bandwagon jumping out of all sports..on and off you go
Simply put, if you pay money to see this, you need to get off Roy and Bernard's nuts
Its Roy's last fight. You wouldn't order your favorite boxer's last fight?
Not interested in buying it, that's for sure...& not interested in breaking the fight down.
This question is more about how people look at things, as fight fans.
I'm intrigued to know why their first fight means more than this one (in terms of head-to-head superiority), even though both were years away from their best, back then ?
To me the meaning of this fight is simple. Its one last chance to see two legends in a boxing ring.
Jabs you are the man, but I find it funny how people say they arn't interested in somthing but talk about it. Lets all be honest, the night of Hopkins vs. Jones were all going to be interested.lol :D

im not sure about this one. i dont think it would have mattered much if hearns had got the decision in the 2nd fight with ray. i dont think people would have went on and on about how they were 'even' cause no one really gave a shit by the time they fought again. i kinda see it like that with jones- hopkins 2. this fight just does'nt mean much for either guy in terms of boxing history.
what the hell are you talking about.. I figure "it means nothing" answers all questions.
I guess this idiot can't comprehend the question :D
You are missing the whole point !
I don't care what it means to the boxing world.....but what does it mean when deciding who got the better of each other, over all ?
