Mundine gets rowdy reception, looking more like Roy Jones everyday

Just recently finished watching the Mundine, Green card. And to anyone interested I got to say it was a very entertaining night and not because of the fights. To start off, Green pounded a decision over tough Mexican Kirino Garcia. Green boxed beautifully and hit Garcia with some very hard solid shots and had the Mexican hurt a couple of times but never pounced on the oppurtunities. It was an easy victory 100-90 over 10 rounds. After the fight Danny Green called upon his home crowd (Perth) to give Mundine hell when he came out for the next bout. Asking the Perth crowd if they wanted to see Mundine get knocked out? Needless to say, there was plenty of reception calling for Mundines' head. Rico Chong Nee (A New Zealander), Mundines opponent came out to cheers. Mundine soon followed, coming out to the tune of 2pac- Ghetto Gospel and was his usual cocky self. He got very rowdy reception, plenty of boo's and people with their middle fingers sticking out, and chants of "Mundine is a wanker". Just when their bout was about to begin, Green re-entered the stadium to great applause, Mundine unhappy with this move motioned to Green in the crowd, made gestures and stomped on the ground as if he was stomping a cockroach. The bout then began and Mundine was very sharp as usual over his over-matched opponent, taunting Roy Jones Jr. style, it was obvious that he had been spending time with Jones Jr. as Kostya Tszyu (one of the commentators) mentioned. Rico had his left eye shut as early as the 2nd round even without much action in the 1st. Mundine played the role of agressor for this fight and put Rico down with 3 vicious right hands and the fight was stopped in the 3rd. Before the fight, we were promised a post fight staredown between the two rivals but the crowd ensured that would not happen. Mundine jumped on the ropes after the fight celebrating with his bravado, the Perth crowd didn't appreciate and glass bottles and other dangerous objects were hurdled towards the victor. Never before or again will you see a fighter get this kind of treatment let alone in his own country. Mundine had to be rush to safety by his team and security. Though they claim they have never met each other face to face before, the hostilty is at all time high. The action outside the ring has been unreal and Green and especially Mundine have both done a terrific job of selling this fight. All system are going now, for their Multi-Million dollar super fight down under early next year.

Mundines a champion you got too recognise the skill .... Mundine has been on training camp with Jones JR he would of learnt alot from Roy ..... Mundine was a champion rugby player then changed too boxing won a world tittle ... Hes made it big in 2 major sports, not many have done that

green will knock mundine the fuck out! danny will make EASY WORK of that fag mundine. and i will be there for it! I hope they knock each other out and it's called a draw. Don't like Mundine, but Green inciting the crowd before Mundines fight was just stupid in every sense of the word. If one of those projectiles had hurt someone then it would be Greens fault IMHO. Everyone knows Mundine's a wanker - Green doesn't have to be one too :boxing:

Yea...that was some crazy ass mayhem. Let's not forget both are world class fighters and Mundine in particular has done a great job of selling this fight. While, Green has been the anti-Mundine, the saviour for all the Mundine haters. There's definitely some bitterness between the 2. But man, this guy Mundine oozes talent, in terms of raw talent he's up there Judahs, Jones Jrs and Mayweathers. It's too bad he started so late though.

yeah i watched that to, i was laughing when after mundines 3rd round ko when he left and evryone in the crowd was throwing shit at him! i cant wait until they fight each other! and for all of you who think their hatred for each other is fake so they can make more money, you's are fuckin DUMB!

mm good luck to these two boxers for making a couple million each from their upcoming fight....whilst genuined world champs can't even make that in the states...... Well...false. Plenty of fighters here who are popular make millions in a fight, even when they aren't champions, but there are plenty of champs who usually make in the million(s) range as well. Oviously some don't make millions but it all comes to the popularity of a fighter. Obviously to of AUSTRALIA's best fighters in AUSTRALIA is going to make money. That's like putting MAB-Morales in Mexico City...I wonder if they'll make millions.

What is a load of crap? I understand that Mundine, Green have been feasting too much on overmatched opponents. I wasn't expecting much tonight but it was suprisingly entertaining night with all the commotion and outside happenings. Also, both guys do have a lot of talent and are rated 5 and 6 in the ring rankings. It should be a good fight when they finally step into the ring is should be good to watch. The lead-up to big fights can be just as fun if not more so than the fight itself. the crap is the commotion and the so-called "rivalry and hatred" these two hate for each other......which of course, is nothing but crap........but the public always pays attention to controversy and good luck to the two for making the big bucks come february..............
