Does anyone have any doubt even tho Hopkins is not a huge puncher he would have stopped Taylor just if he was able to land some combos instead of one punch at a time....he looked older you have to admit so what about him 5 yrs ago I think he would have stopped Taylor like he almost did in the first fight toward the end.
I will be in the minority when I say that the fight would shake down almost the exact same way!
Now I will give Hopkins the edge of course and I would pick him to win by a round or 2 instead of losing a close fight but he in my opinion is largley unchanged from the fighter he was five years ago.
Taylor may not be a great fighter but he fought the right fight. Had he of foguht Taylor five years ago he still would have respected the shit out of Taylor and he would not have gone after him at all.
This fight is still just as boring had it of taken place 5 years earlier for Hopkins-that is just the type of fighter he is against a dangerous opponent.
Agreed. 5 years ago Hopkins was a tad quicker and would have one a couple close rounds. I give Hopkins a slight edge five years ago.
Prime for Prime Right..
Taylor not totally at his Prime give him a good 4 years. I would give taylor the benefit of the Doubt cause hes not at his prime yet.
Hopkins was really getting apreciated after he defeated blown up Welterweights like De La hoya y Trinidad.
I thought a 40 year old Hopkins narrowly beat Taylor twice. Even if you had it the opposit, Hopkins gave Taylor fits.
Give him the lungs and reflexes he had when he was 35 and he stops Taylor.
do you have that gif of hopkins nailing taylor with a right, as taylor is coming up from a duck?

thats exactly what i think!
I didn't realize you were this new to boxing, I apologize. Being hurt in boxing isn't the same as like "ow a paper cut, that hurt".
Hurt is a term for when a fighter is in danger of being stopped. Taylor was never in that position. I suppose you think Sturm hurt De La Hoya too, right?
Wrong. Sturm dominated the fight, but he never had De La Hoya hurt.
Learn your boxing terms and we'll talk someday, ok? :boxing:
i dont recall ever saying sturm hurt DLH badly, he did wobble him though in the 12 DLH knee's buckled, u must be on some freaking crazy ass drugs cause your seeing things, btw why the hell u bringing up felix sturm in a taylor/hopkins thread?
Taylor was hurt, he was holding on for dear life, jay nady almsot had to get a crowbar to pry talyor off hopkins, did u even see the fight?

your agrument is taylor hasnt been hurt in the ring? uhh how is that an argument when its a false statment?

Taylor has yet to be hurt in a fight. That is my argument. What is yours, bitch?

If Taylor had that much trouble with Hopkins now then I don't see him beating a younger Hopkins. The Hopkins that beat down Joppy for 12 rounds would of had a pretty easy time with Taylor. He threw more combinations and started around the second and third rounds after feeling out the first round.
The Hopkins that beat up Holmes and Tito in 2001 would of had an easier time. A younger Hopkins would of put on the type of beating he put on Taylor in the last rounds of the first fight but with more combinations throughout the fight. Also Hopkins punches had more snap to them a few years ago then they do now.
Taylor has the style to beat the Hopkins of now but his style is suited for a younger Hopkins.
back up your agruments like i just did and u just posted this which doesnt have anything with boxing in it? i can feel your anger, release it and come over to the darkside, cause bitch i am yo daddy, taylor lost and u know it, angry angry little man, funniest part of that post was saying debate like a man, then all your little insults after that ahahahha (insert Manny P type pwned thing)

No, of course he won't be a top 5 MW ever but the fact is, 5 years older and fighting Hopkins the fight will be the same. Same goes with Hopkins, he will always have trouble with a style like Taylors.
Fair enough..............
sorry I made typo, I will add in 5.
I got ya....you really think Taylor is going to go on and become better than one of the top 5 MWs ever?? I don't as a matter of fact I think he gets beat in his first title defense or second if he fights a nobody in his hometown and never becomes champ again with lacy around in the upper divisions because he has to move up eventually.
he hurt him in the 12th, and when u get punched u get hurt cause it hurts lol, hopkins is famous for his withering right hand shots, he clocked taylor with them and taylor almost got ktfo, luckly for him hbo had his back and he got 2 wins
Getting punched doesn't necessarily "hurt". I've been punched a lot, boxing or street fighting, rarley do I get hurt tho, well if i'm punched in the head. I'll have to watch the fight more close this saturday in the 12th and see for myself :)
Whoever created this thread is stupid. What about the present Hopkins vs Taylor of years? Taylor now vs Hopkins of 5 years ago? Taylor still wins both regardless.
WTF are you talking about the Taylor of years???????And you call me stupid.
stop acting like a faggot and debate like a man, you little homosexual fuck. why are you using terms like "anal rape" in a boxing discussion? somebody letting their gay fantasies leak out? back up your arguments instead of resorting to insults about being gay, dickwad.

I don't recall Taylor being hurt in the second fight, maybe because i was drinking or what but, I don't remember, what round was it? The first fight I think Taylor just wasted too much energy, yes it would have been a TKO but not because Hopkins did anything. I think he loses by TKO against Hopkins 5 years ago, rematch though it would be taylor winning again. Mainly Taylor would tire in first one like this time, but hopkins would finish, Taylor would take the rematch much in the same fashion he won these two.

this is the most idiotic post i have ever seen, hopkins never landed anything flush? taylor is the one who never landed a flush shot in the first fight, hopkins never hurt him? did u see the first fight, you seem to be fasinated with me, such pent up anger, go masterbate to my name and feel better about yourself you "little jackass" lol

deigo my friend did taylor anal rape u so hard u got even more dumb? Hopkisn had taylor out on his feet in rounds 10-11-12 in the first fight and had him in trouble again in the second? no to mention hopkins was robbed outta those 2 fights, and he is 41 years old, u can not sit there and tell me B-hop was not better in 2001 then he is now, i just feel bad for taylor that he cant beat up a senior citizen, god your dumb, makes me feel bad to be a corrales fan
