"I'm not overlooking Sharmba," vows WBC jr welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather (34-0, 23KOs), who faces two-time champion Sharmba Mitchell (56-4, 30KOs) in an HBO-televised non-title fight at welterweight Saturday night at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. Floyd was very respectful toward Mitchell today in a teleconference with reporters. "To be the best, you've got to beat the best," he said, "and the world can't take anything away from Sharmba Mitchell....there's no need to badmouth this guy. All the negative comments are in the past. I do all my fighting in the ring." After this fight, Floyd hinted at a possible showdown with welterweight champion Zab Judah. Mitchell commented, "I know it's going to be a tough fight, but that brings the best out of me." He later added, "Floyd reminds me of myself when I was coming up."
"I'm not overlooking Sharmba,"
I wish he would so this would be an exciting fight
Mayweather will stop him TKO 10.
Sharmba's legs are gone and I think this will be the downfall for him. He will constantly be on the backfoot trying to circle away from Mayweather who has transformed into an offensive fighter.
if he did did look past shambra..shambra would still lose
LOL, now thats cold.. i was planning on going somewhere this weekend, but i decided to stay home, save some money, and watch this fight saturday night, Floyd better at least put on a show.
We are kidding ourselves here. Sharmba has no hope of a chance against Mayweather. At 37 years old he has absolutely no chance. He didnt look so good in his last few fights and his best days are behind him. The only prayer that Sharmba has is one of two things. A. that Mayweather wont do so good because of the fact that he is a southpaw. (Maybe might throw mayweather off but I doubt it) or the fact that Sharmba like Naseem hameed actually uses a combination of boxing and drunken kung fu in the ring (His balance is horrible and you never know what the hell he is doing sometimes.) maybe using his drunken fist techniques he can land a puch as he is falling down and catch mayweather off gaurd.)
Sharmba isn't 37, hes just turned 35 a couple months ago, which isnt exactly over the hill in boxing. He has good boxing skills, fast hands, a difficult style, and i believe he possess more power then Mayweather at welterweight. Mayweather most likely has the skills to win this fight, but who knows. Its not like Mayweather has never been tested in a fight, he was hurt bad against Corley (who I believe Mitchell would destroy) and he may have lost the first fight against Castillo (12 pounds lighter). So, while I believe Mayweather will win by late stoppage, I would not be entirely shocked to see an upset.
Sharmba (like everyone else pretty much) is going to have to catch Floyd with something nasty if he wants to beat him. Sharmba isn't the type to outwork anyone, I also can't see his power troubling Floyd...
I'm going with an easy Floyd UD.
you make it sound like sharmba had no chance in hell, Have you ever seen any upset. maybe its just me ive seen a couple that were major upsets. i wouldnt be surprised of this turns out to be one. and if it does turn out to be an upset it wont really be a big one sharba has been champion before
Anytime a boxer steps into the ring there is a chance that he may be upset. There are countless fights in history where the favorite was beating the hell out of the underdog, only to get caught by one lucky punch and lose the match. it is not impossible but highly improbable. (And yes I have heard that Sharmba has been in the mountains of china perfecting his drunken fist technique so he may actually upset Mayweather

Floyd will win i think. Most people hold that opinion it would seem.
But who said Floyd isnt just another one for the upset list. We have had quite a few this year.
