He is not even close to the greatest. His opposition does not support that he is the greatest. A "great" is one who is a great champ, a peoples champ. Mike tyson was a talented boxer who was bad for the image of boxers. Sorry, but a "great" is not defined by just talent, its defined by talent, will, heart, professionalism, personality.

I feel Ali would have been NO match for him. Tyson did Very well against Smaller Heavywheights. He had a bit more trouble with the bigger guys. Nah, would've thought that Ali could've had a chance, and Merry christmas.

be honest I dont know who the greatest fighter is but I love tyson's style and the way he carried himslef in and out of the ring plus he's pretty much the only 1 i watch so I gotta say tyson for me but hey remember thats me. I cant judge ppl from the 60s and 70s that i really never seen fight or seen there whole fights so theres no point for me to rate them high if I really havnt seen lots of his fights. :)

To me tyson is only the greatest fighter of all time if he posessed the ability to get up on his toes and dance around the ring like ali and box with that pure boxing style , if he was capable of doing that then he was without doubt in my mind the greatest and most complete fighter to box if he couldnt then he was still great but not the best .

But up to this date no one has ever reach the ladder that ALI did... not only on the ring but also outside the ring... he influenced the entire world with his courage and toughness (especially the BLACKs)... Up to now the world respects him and recognized him as the "GREATEST"... And i believe so... Tyson could be the GREATEST if he is wise and witty, he was outsmart by douglas and evander... evander knows that if he will be able to insult tyson inside the ring, tyson will loose his focus on the fight and he will be more vulnerable... and also this is the reason he was jailed due the lack of education... again outsmart by a woman whom they have CONSENSUAL SEX... I personally don't give a shit what the fighter does outside of the ring. We're talking about greatest fighter of all time, not greatest person. And it was definitely not Tyson, he did have the POTENTIAL to become the best ever, but it all fell apart. I would have to go with Joe Louis myself.
