And how impressive is it that Larry Holmes beat the count?
This is arguably the hardest hitting Heavyweight of all time landing a titanic shot right on Larry Holmes' chin.
He's up by the count of 7.
shavers power is overrated tillis said that tyson hit harder than shavers.
lmao. here we go again. tillis said nothing of the kind. so quit making things up :bottle:

i remember that from a long time ago, it's amazing that Holmes got up after that let alone getting up that fast, and if i remember right he won that fight,no? i could be wrong about that, i was a little guy then, but either way
you have to have a little something extra special to get up after a shot like that.
Is Bozo banned forever?
...He should be. I just went and looked at his last several pages of posts just for the fuck of it, and he is flaming like 20 different people in 90% of his replies. What a fucking ass clown he was.
ali knocked out sonny liston with a left hook. joe frazier couldnt knock out ali with his left hook. so ali has the better left hook?
i know thats not such a good example, but we all know that punches you dont see coming will have more of an effect. tyson had a lot of speed.
if shavers punched so hard how come he didnt tko him or beat him like tyson did. but then u guys say tyson doesnt hit as hard as shavers. and i know i know it was a young holmes but he still had a really good chin after he fought tyson
Because Tyson was a young vicous animal, who had a very different style to Shavers, plus Holmes was simply not the same fighter he was wen he fought Shavers.
Its not a simple case of power. It takes more than just power to knock people out as u should know.

It stopped him dead in his tracks. BAM!! Its hard to believe Shavers didnt win that fight after that knock down.
If you are talking about Shavers not stopping Tillis....James Tillis was the first man to go the distance with Tyson.
If it's Holmes you are talking about.....Shavers fought Holmes when Holmes was in his prime....not when he was 38, like Tyson did.
good point, and if we are to compare the chin of holmes to the chin of tyson at 38 it would be laughable. remember how tyson got pushed down by mcbride at 38 and then quit.
