People playing themselves as a focus of a movie doesn't work unless it's a complete hagiography. Most celebrities cannot even write their own autobiography without a ghost writer and even then it's usually a fluff piece.

i just wish it was someone other than Jamie Foxx, maybe an up-and-comer that no one knows about.. Jamie Foxx is a comedian, just like Will Smith was when he played in Ali, it doesn't fit right and i wish they wouldn't think like "Big Names=Sales" first when making movies. You can say that with the majority of movies out today. Plus, i agree that there is no nutritionist on EARTH that can make Jamie Foxx look like Mike Tyson.

i think jamie fox could do a really good job with tyson. and a tyson movie i have always thought to be a good idea. if you back away from it all- mike tyson is possibly one of the most tragic stories in sports history as far as how high he ascended and then how utterly far he fell in the eyes of the public. i'm sure there is a lot of personal reflection that mike has to offer on the whole ordeal that would make for a quality drama. mike tyson's personal life is almost a complete antithesis of muhammad ali- and ever since the Ali movie i've been thinking about how there needs to be a tyson movie. because the tyson movie would be so much more somber and the ending would be nothing short of depressing as long as they write it/shoot the movie right.

Sure he doesnt have the dense muscle an athlete will have...Foxx looks like he trains on a Bowflex...but he is the best choice out there to play Tyson. I think he would do better than Michael Jai White did in the 1995 TV film TYSON
