i was watching the 1990 european title fight between french titleholder jean chanet and a young lennox lewis , in london .
everything was so funny . the look of jean chanet is lol , couldnt find a pic sadly , a short bald french with a moustache and a hairy torso , and a young lennox lewis with a haircut that made him look like a 250 pounds MC hammer and ridiculous shorts with a chess table print .
but the worst was the french commentators . magical moments .
"this lennox lewis will never win a world title "
"he thinks he can knock Chanet out , and franck maloney (lewis manager) told us it would happend in 5 rounds . those brits , typical of their arrogant behaviour"
and after the fight was stopped on cuts
"lennox lewis has swelling under his eyes , whe has been badly wounded by the french champ !" (lennow lewis lookeed fresh and clean like he was just out of the shower )
"i guess our canadian friends are celebrating lennow victory by drinking maple syrup !"
"my dear francois did you notice the ringcard girl is HOT tonight ?
- indeed , i ll take some pictures , she is hotter than most californian ringcard girls "
and on and on and on ...
all that on national TV at the time lol
Where I come from there is such a thing as being full of shit...but in a good way. These guys sound like they have it in spades. I wish I could have seen it.

 On national TV! I'd love to hear Lampley and Lederman say that on HBO.
I would argue you with that but this is a boxing forum. Im glad we had such a memorable series and such great games with both teams winning that everyone can enjoy it. The teams were basically even. One of the best teams on both sides.
Actually, I think your Russian team was better. We were very lucky to win the series, but I think it was one of those cases where the better team doesn't always win. Guys like Yakushev, Mikhailov, Kharlamov were light years ahead of our guys in skills, like it wasn't even close.
But anyhow, back to boxing... ...cheers, mate! ;)
I actually remember watching that game. The Canadians were already up 2-0 after about 2 minutes, and I remember the Canadian announcers talking about superior Canadian skills, about how the pros were taking it to the amateurs, etc. and then it was like, WTF just happened?
Fortunately, we did end up winning the series. ;)

Lol who doesnt...
I have 1972 USSR vs Canada, the first time Russians came over and the canadian anouncers were talking so much SHIT I wanted to kill them. But it came back in their face when they lost 3-7.
