Difference between WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO ???

Nobody aspires to be a WBA, IBF or WBO champion, people just aspire to be World Champion, people dream to be World Champion. WBC is the most prestigous though, you can't argue with that.

I think the WBO sucks today. But it was hot property in the early 90's when it was the one federation free of corruption, but since Jose Torres left it's been a shambles. I don't really care for alphabet crap anyway.. I kind of like the fighters better than letters :)

I don't really consider the WBO a legitimate belt. WBA, WBC & IBF are the 3 real belts in my opinion. WBO is like 15 years old, 10 years ago no one even mentioned the WBO as one of the real belts. If you look on the reigning champions section at espn.com they do not list WBO title holders.All of the belts are garbage just a ploy to seel more seats,ppvs or whatever else they can by having so many different champions.They need to have one title per division and call it simply World Champion.

what the f**k are you on about martin.........haven't you noticed how the yanks operate.........if its one of their own, they'll respect the man, if it is a euro, asian, african, or whoever, they won't.......... i think you might have misunderstood the post............probably the only non-american/latino wbo holder that is respected is Calzaghe...........apart from him the other title holders are unknown....... you ask a yank about zsolt erdei? they don't even know who he is!! pretty much the same for johnny nelson!!! and scott harrison.........and felix sturm (b4 he fought dlh)... so basically it is double standards from the yanky boxing public........and you know this!!

it also pays to mention that the wbo is a paper title, and the only time it is recognised, is when the holder is an american or latino...........if the wbo title holder is held by anyone else, he is not recognised.............this is a fact and i'm sure you all agree..

all the bels are worthless nowadays................the time is coming when fighters are fighting the best out there, and not just fighting title holders............look at antonio tarver,,,,,,,he is the king of the lhw division but he doesn't need to fight any of the title holders because they are well below his calibre.......... then look at hatton.........he is now fighting a bum, just because he has a title.......so it shows how fucked the titles are.....

they should revert back to the days of 1 champ in each weight division. that way you would know whos really the best.. Then Don King would have less people to pay off.

WBC is considered the real belt for the HW's. In the early 80s I think the WBA was more prized. Just depends on who you ask
