Baldomir will face Judah!
By Sebastián Contursi / www.ESPNdeportes.com
WBC #2 Carlos Baldomir of Argentina will be WBA/WBC/IBF Welterweight champ Zab Judah's next foe, September 30th in St Louis, Missouri. So far, 34-year-old Baldomir seemed to be destined to be only a perennial high ranked contender, as he has been during the last five years. Yet, after winning a unanimous decision over Mexican Miguel Angel Rodriguez last May 21st in Chicago in a WBC eliminator, Baldomir will now have his long awaited shot. Baldomir's (41-9-6, 12 KOs) last defeat was back in December 1998, when he dropped a decision against fellow compatriot Alberto de las Mercedes Cortes. After that, he won 17 fights and drew the other two.Currently, "El Tata" Baldomir is training in Los Angeles under the supervision of legendary trainer Amilcar Brusa. Baldomir will be joined by his trainer Jose Lemos on Wednesday. "This chance took me by surprise as I expected to fight for the title in November or December. However, I'll be ready 'cause I won't let this chance go. Lefthanders like Judah used to give me some trouble in the ring. But not anymore. Since I'm fighting in such a competitive market as the US you have to learn how to fight against any fighter and any style," said Baldomir on Monday to radio show "Ring Side en el Aire."
Haha this is worst than Sharmba Mitchell, poor Zab holding the undisputed crown but doesnt want to fight like a true champion.
that would be nice, their managers and promoters need to set that up then..
And the winner would think be truly "undisputed", as Judah is WBA super champ. They winner would have all 4 major belts.
I'd like to see Judah vs. WBA Champ Collazo, too...
well mayorga, spinks are at 154 so theyre out.
we all know how willing tszyu is to fight him?
mitchell zab didnt get the money he wanted for that, i guess he ante to be paid this time to fight.
estrada or urkal come on who wouldnt be saying the same exact thing? you all would still be complaining.
Mayorga would come down or would be willing to come down to 148....Tszyu probably would at this stage in his career and that is a money fight to be made, so I dont know why that one is on the table really (but understandable as Tszyu might be retiring)....Zab bitched about the money with Mitchell but I mean come on? What is he making for this fight? 25k???? The problem with Zab is that if he fights anybody with a pulse or a name and solid record then he thinks he should be getting a payday because he is scared....Zab is his own worst enemy in the ring, he shouldnt be scared because I feel Zab could take a lot of these guys but I dont know why he plays the bitch in every big fight negotiations....
Estrada/Urkal would be atleast credible to this chump, I mean Estrada did go the full distance with Mosley which should warrant him some respect.

WE ALREADY KNOW! I WAS THE FIRST ONE TO POST THIS DAMN TOPIC UP!
It's not Zab's fault people.. I'm quite sure that if he had a sAY IN ALL OF THIS, HE'D BE FIGHTING THE BEST.. bUT THERE IS NO ONE GOOD IN THE Welter Weight division, and Mayweather demanded more money than Zab, which is ridiculous.. He needs a legacy fight tho, PBF was perfect, but he's acting like a bitch..
Margarito's available and looking for an opponent...

this guy has only 12 KO's in 41 wins??? they must search pretty hard to find these feather dusters, so zab doesnt get hurt...
This guy actually won the most boring undercard fight on the Brewster-Golota fightnight, which earned him the shot. It was painful to watch. I read my program and got up and pissed and bought another beer in the middle rounds of it. This guy may be worse than that Wayne Martell guy from the Indian reservation tht Judah fought - probably has a better chin, but he's slow and has no power...
yea it is his fault he doesnt have to fight this crappy match. zab is the champ and fights who he wants but it seems like he doesnt want floyd
It all comes down to one thing and thats $$$$$
Would you rather zab take this fight and then fight someone good like in january or feb.? or woul you rather him be inactive until then, i always take activeness each time, hes the most actuive top fighter around.
thats the problem, he wont fight someone good in jan, he will take another shitty fight

i want him to fight some1 good now and some1 good in january :D
Its not necessarily Zab's fault, promoters and opponents srew big fights up.

Thats not exactly true, Judah fought Spinks when feather fisted Spinks was 10 pounds heavier in one of their fights(sure it was the first one, dont remember) ,Mayorga is willing to fight anyone, at any weight as he proved with the bigger fighter in Trinidad, He can at least make an effort to call Tsyzu some till the fight comes through, Cotto, Hatton, or Mosley can all break off their fights, Mayweather is available, M

Margarito, Spinks,Mitchell,Mayorga,Tszyu..Hell even throw Zab Estrada or Urkal...Those are fighters with a damn pulse atleast...
All I can say about this guy is that he lost to Dingaan Thobela, who has lost his last 6 fights in a row.
Oh, also, his name sort of looks like my username.
Zab, Zab, Zab :nonono:
Its not necessarily Zab's fault, promoters and opponents srew big fights up.
Dont get me wrong. I think Toney would blast those guys out of the water, but you currently would be hard pressed to find others who include him in a P4P list because of his status as a heavyweight.
This is true...I guess I'm straying from the norm or something.
Toney isn't a natural heavyweight...and do you really think that if Toney could healthily get down to lower weights, retaining his skills and stamina, that guys like Wright, Pacquiao, Barerra, etc...would beat him? I sure as hell don't.
He's 4 weight classes north of his starting weight...he's been nothing but dominant against the opposition he's faced too.
yeah, but thats because hes lazy and has a serious weight problem... the reason he moved up is bc he couldnt stay down, but i see your point, and can understand why u have toney low on ur p4p list

P4P rankings were created for fighters other than heavyweights. You will never see a heavyweight in the P4P lists....because its not possible. The system was created for Sugar Ray Robinson in an attempt to compare his skills to a fighter at a bigger weight.
Everyone knows a heavyweight will beat even the best of the little guys, but to be fair to them......the system was created.
