From Fightnews:
Tszyu vs Judah rematch?
By Ray Wheatley -- World of Boxing
Former unified 140-pound champion Kostya Tszyu has stated that he would consider a return bout with WBC/IBF/WBA welterweight champion Zab Judah if he returns to ring action. Tszyu said, "It depends on the deal that we make. I'm not going to jump into the ring just for the sake of fighting someone. It all depends on how the fight is commercially, all aspects, where it is being held. I will look at it very closely then make a decision." Judah was knocked out in two rounds by Tszyu in a IBF jr welterweight title bout in 2001. Tszyu is currently in Russia with welterweight boxer Anton Solopov who is scheduled to fight there on September 10. Tszyu also said he has not looked at his fight with Ricky Hatton.
if judahs an average fighter with quick hands, what is hatton.
This is nothing to do with Hatton, but as you asked he's a very good inside fighter. You might not realise that because maybe you dont see it when a fighter uses good angles, slips punches, work the body, etc.
I made a comment about Judah and Tszyu, i replied to you about Hatton because you asked the question but i'd rather you didnt.
What makes Judah better than how i described him? When you look at a fighter like Mayweather you know that he could fight with half the hand speed he has, he'd still pick the right shots but with Judah he's just throwing the 1-2, even now the decent fighters know whats coming at them, so if his handspeed dropped he'd be far from the level he's at. To give a good example using a fighter i like - Joe Calzaghe is himself a average fighter with very fast hands and power like Judah, if he had no handspeed he'd be just average, the only difference with him and Judah is Calzaghe's more intelligent and accurate.
There nothing wrong with Judah using his natural advantages but i just dont think he can beat clever fighters. Judah just looks like he has technical ability because he has good movement and text book punches, he's a hell of a lot better on the pads and bags than he is in the ring.
well you got a double standard going then..if judah loses you say I told you so..If tsyzu loses you say he's too old
i understand your point bro, but that is what happens when it is not a real rematch...if it were immediately after or not long after it would have been even stevens.....but seeing it was left for 5 years later when tszyu is old, this is what happens..........hence the reason for me arguing the rematch point.........
did judah ever push for a rematch? i think not......
if judahs an average fighter with quick hands, what is hatton.
Judah just an average fighter with quick hands, the punch that hit him was a well placed power shot, a fighter of Tszyu ability and power doesnt land lucky KO's.
haha, shoe is on the other foot.
Kostya had to think about a Judah rematch two years ago because of the way "Zab talked before the first fight." Now his old stiff ass wants a rematch. Zab dont take it. You have too much pride for this has-been.

i'd class it as a re-match
well of course you can class it as a rematch.....but you and everyone else knows that a rematch is the way i described it, and when a fighter calls out for a rematch.......
this is more of two fighters needing to fight a big name opponent...and of course the spice is there from their bout FIVE or so years ago.
these two are fighting each other for the 2nd time... thats a rematch.
the boxing world is calling it a rematch and its not gonna change the name simply because one poster on one site says differently.
not really..............i'm sure many many others agree with the point.....
even you agree with the point....
one thing everybody should be aware of also, is that if this fight were to occur, ,,,,,,it wouldn't and shouldn't be considered a rematch..........
rematches occur usually immediately after fights when there are questions regarding the outcome, a really close fight, etc.........although when fighters go their own ways and fight again years later.........it isn't called a rematch.

is judah wins all the haters are just gonna say tszyu was way over his prime
well with tszyu approaching 36 and coming off a loss......would they be wrong?
this is zab's only chance and it needs to happen fast, otherwise if he waits until tszyu is even more older and inactive, of course people, with full right, will say that zab waited until tszyu was too old, past his prime, and semi retired to get his "revenge"......
this is zab's biggest payday apart from a showdown with pbf......so he has every reason to take it.....unless of course, if he is scared of losing his titles and getting KO'd......but like i said, zab has age, form, confidence, etc on his side now....
LOL, judah doesnt have what it takes to beat tszyu. You beat tszyu with constant pressure and a smothering attack. Judah cant press a fight like hatton did. Judah is by far faster, but not enough power and will fight again from the outside. If the rematch does happen it will end the same way the first fight did, with zab doing his little dance.
I saw this on fightnews. i hope its true he also talked about going to welter a shitload before judah beat the fuck out of spinks, then this is the first time he has said shit about that since. he stfu once judah won against spinks. pretty much like dlh did, but dlh has mentioned judah a few times since he beat spinks. ANYWAY I WILL BET EVERY BIT OF POINTS I HAVE THAT JUDAH WILL KO/TKO KOSTYA WHEN THEY FIGHT. I AM BEING OPTIMISTIC AS I HAVE BEEN SINCE THE BULLSHIT FIRST FIGHT THAT THEY WILL FIGHT AGAIN. I HOPE TSZYU GETS A DEVASTATING KO AT 147 FIRST OR EVEN MORE THAN 1 BUT AT LEAST 1 JUST TO SHOW HES STILL AS GOOD AS HE WAS SO YOU PEOPLE WONT MAKE EXCUSES AS TO WHY JUDAH DESTROYS HIM WHEN HE DOES. TSZYU HAS NOTHING FOR JUDAH AT ALL THE FIRST FIGHT WAS COMPLETE BS. JUDAH WILL MURDER HIM, REVENGE IS COMING IN THE YEAR 2006 FOR ZAB JUDAH. I THINK IT WILL HAPPEN THEN PROBABLY IN THE SUMMER OR LATER IN THE YEAR.
you make me laugh bro............i suppose zab can wait until tszyu is 40 and then rematch him, and that will be his revenge ha!!!.......
revenge is there for the taking now, and even though many many people say kostya is too old now, it would still be a legitimate revenge for zab........
so the ball is in his court..........but no way can he beat kostya (unless he waits for kostya to get a bit older)
I think it will be a coin toss -- 50:50; I will root for Kostya obviously, but I also have very high respect for Zab...
I think Kostya should fight a rematch with Haton and then retire.
Of course, Kostya knows the best what to do.
Their first fight would have been a good fight, but it only took 1 punch. Zab as an idiot and he tried getting up too fast. The first round was nothing but Judah clocking Tszyu. Second round only took a coupe of shots for Judah to do something stupid.
I think it has the makings of a great fight and will go to the later rounds... probably 10th round TKO. I just haven't figured out for who. I lean towards Zab though.

to an extent you right cuz a left hander weakness is a straight right just like sharmba mitchell ithink sharmba more skilled but judah more quicker..and im sayin 4 years a long time but he could be a left handed mayweather in 4 years ..but never reach a james toney level

Well said. That is the Truth, I don't think Zab Judah is that great of a fighter either.
I don't even give Zab a chance in hell against PBF.
If you watch the fight again zoo throws two of those shots.
He missed the first one and zab trys to back away, then zoo throws another perfectly placed one that sent him down.
The truth is, even if it took longer the second time, Zoo would find Zab again, and put him right back down.
that shit was a lucky punch just like roy got caught by tarver..i like tzu cuz he got a mutha fuckin vicious right hand but judah is gettin better n better in 4 years judah could be unstoppable and tzu looked too slow for hatton even tho i thought he was beatin hatton cuz that knock down was legit and i think thats why hatton dont want a rematch aint that some bull shit
