I got to admit I was the first person saying Cotto was overated and all that just cause I wasnt a big fan of some other PR fighters but this kid is different, hes got alot of potential, hes multi-talented and humble I can see him beating most at 140 and would like to see how he would do with Hatton, but there is no way he can beat PBF even at 147 he can probably beat the majority of competition with the exception of Margarito.
Hey, thats not too far out. Cotto was saying he sparred 12 rounds with Brusceles and Brusceles stood his ground.
Blackzilla was right on the money.
At this moment I would pick Floyd. Like someone else said before he's still green.
Zilla-Don't comapre these guys, I definitely know that Cotto would put up a better fight than Bruseles. Don't go that far.
say what?????????????
in all fairness Cotto's oppisition has been top notch and have probably been the best fights to allow him to improve as rapidly as he does
I doubt cotto would have struggled against some of the fighters that have troubled PBF
Sosa is one example that actually happened.
I know this proves nothing but the worst trouble Cotto was ever in was against the hard hitting Corley and he did everything right whilst under pressure for the rest of the round aswell as proving he has a good chin.
yeah, because cotto has so much experience fighting good fighters and fighting big fights...
PBF makes Cotto look like that other PR guy he fought...what was his name??? o yea henry bruseles

what a few rapid jabs followed up by the predictable overhand right
its not the tools he wins with its his speed but young Cotto has plenty of speed too and if they met Id bet my bottom dollar on Cotto
For me its Cotto as his also is fast alot more powerful than PBF and has lots more tools in his arsenal.
dude u must be kiddin, nobody has more tools than floyd mayweather
Of course Floyd would be the favorite right now, Cotto is still to green but give him 1-2 years and he will be ready for Floyd, he just needs to keep fighting better and better comp and meet Floyd at 147/154, I would like to see Cotto against the likes of Hatton, Witter, etc...first.
i agree 100% if they fought today pbf wins but in 1-2 yrs. providing that he keeps fighting better comp. each fight he can beat pbf ...cotto is the future of boxing he has alot of tools and gets better each fight ...i would also like to see him in there with the other top guys at 140 lb. i think he beats hatton if they fought now ..
Mayweather by KO. I like Cotto, but lets be honest he isnt in Floyd's league. I'd say in 5 years it might be a closer fight as Cotto would be peaking and Floyd would be declining.
If it happened in the next few months...the realistic pick would be Floyd.
I have personally been higher on Cotto than anyone else here I believe (besides maybe Borikua)...so if they ever fight ill be putting much loot on Cotto by late TKO.
Cotto is accurate, powerful, devastating to the body, and has pretty quick hands. I think he could beat Floyd, but it's more likely to happen at 147 than 140.
I have alot of respect for what Cotto is and what he can become. He has great control over both his offense and defense and has his head on straight. That being said, I can not see Cotto landing much on Mayweather. If anything Cotto is TOO controled and calculating to be free swinging enough to pull Mayweather into a brawl, which is were Cotto will need the fight to be because I just dont see anyone right now that can box with Mayweather and win on the cards. I think Hatton poses a bigger threat to Mayweather than Cotto at this point, and I still see Mayweather beating Hatton.
