Finally Valuev stepped up to competition. Not saying Donald is great, but it is certainly a huge step in Valuev's competition.
Out of Donald's 3 losses, Vitali was the only one to knock him out in the 10th.
I'm very curious how Valuev does...
Donald has good ring experience a good stamina and a good chin...
I would even give him the edge. I see him dancing around Valuev all night, the hitting/retrieving.. Valuev will be too slow to counter. Something similar to Wlad / Peter, only Valuev has the size advantage.
What do you think: will Valuev walk through Donald as he did with the rest of his competition, or will Larry give Nikolay his first loss?
Good Match-up
Am I the only one who thinks that Donald can run around like a chicken with his head cut off a then frustrate the crap out of a guy this big?
Now I am not a Donald nut hugger, but Donald UD12 120-108 across the board.
If you read my other posts in this thread you'd see why I'm negative.
I think those who actually are interested in this slop are the ones who need to do some explaining.
Explaining my 'ars' LOL
No one is forcing you to like anything! ;)
Yes since I'm living in Germany i can see his fights for free which i have done. And yes i can also see that you are new to boxing (may 2004) or is that just the day you decided to join this forum?
I think the illegal moves you are refering to are not illegal but comes from Valuev being so much bigger than his opponents and that he can be a bit clumsy looking at time.
i have seen about the last 5 or 6 of his fights........and of course he might not mean some of the illegal moves,,...but do you understand that they are still illegal........
that is the point........he would have been DQ'd in the states a long time ago...but in germany, it is controlled and taken care of.....
DUDE points this out to in his post to you.....
so stop being a victim of all the brainwashing over there in germany.
we dont now if he can compete yet.
besides he is ranked pretty high by the wba and may get a tittle shot against ruiz one, and ruiz he is capable of beating
this is a step upp fore Valuev and its about time, donald is very experiened, has a solied chin and pretty good boxing skills.
maybe after this valuev can finally fight some real good opponents
Actually he can't or at least he shouldn't. If his promoters are intelligent they'll let him fight medicore competition until his death and collect the easy money. Valuev will never be good enough to win a recognized World Title (though he might beat Ruiz) and if he eventually loses one day most people wont carry anymore about him (which they should've never done in the first place).

Man,
Why are you always so negative, or at least when it comes down to HW division? You even inspired me to create a thread on the division's current standing:

Yes it stinks at the moment, but as I posted in the above linked thread, I believe it is due to all the new faces in the division..
It can only get better from this point on ;)

I don't know all that much about Valuev, I hear he's got power, but Donald has lots of experience, a good boxer, and a very good chin. Should be an interesting "minor" fight.
i just don't think donald has what it takes to put that big fucker down, unless he connects with a temple hook or something when valuev is distributing his weight towards the punch..
and u know what will happen if the fights goes to the cards
the judges are going to fuck donald like they fucked hopkins
I agree with paul750, but I expect Valuev in a controversial SD, due to the hometown bias...
A win should definitely get Valuev an HBO or Showtime appearance...I can't believe Shobox hasn't shown a fight of his yet...
Larry Donald is a good experienced pro, with good boxing ability, i don't think this will faze him at this late stage of his career. valuev will not have seen a boxer like donald before.
Yeah, keep in mind the fight is in Oldenburg, meaning Valuev will have the advantage.
he will be able to:
1> extend his lead hand and keep donald at bay setting up for the right hand cross or overhand right which is illegal, except not in europe
2> push him around and shit
3> confuse donald with all the wrestling..
4> biased refs
5> racist e|_|rotrash 'fuck america' fans (just ask hagler, they threw full beer bottles at his crew after the win)
what are the chances of donald coming in and landing something on valuev, in a fight in europe? I'd give Brewster a chance because he's good at offense when he wants to be offensive but Donald?
donald's gonna get get punked.
This is a slight step up in class and Donald should provide
a few problems,i can see it being a bit of a bore though.
"Slight step up"???
When has Valuev fought anyone close to a top 20 competition?
Fight stinks.

You're obviously blind if you haven't noticed all the hitting to the back of the head in Valuevs last fight. It was an absolut disgrace! I was really ashamed of the referee and the german commentating.
Valuev knocked Etienne out with a shot to the back of the head. That doesn't come from being bigger, that comes from haveing no accuracy in your punches and no understanding of the sport. Thus he's not the one to blame. It wouldn't be the first time that one of Wilfried Sauerland's fighters was part of a somewhat strange refeering.
Valuev has shown very little and a fight against Larry Donald wont prove shit. But obviously it's enough to milk the cow for the moment.
