K, now for real, this question is, for the real fight fans and professionals that read the shit in here. Who will take John Ruiz's belt? We all know the guy is almost as bad a paper champ as Shitco, and it's cuzza Don King he still has a belt at all. So who will finally KO this bum and restore some dignity to the title of World's Heavyweight Champion?
I agree Toney got screwed but it looks like he'll get a shot at a belt he'll actually get to keep if he wins. And Brewster would be very deserving but I hope the Russian Beast mangles Ruiz. Bob "the Beast" Sapp is a legend in K1 (and is it just me or do they give Sapp extra time to recover every time he gets rocked or what?),and Sapp seems to draw a lot of attention to his sport whenever he fights (remember the Mike Tyson incident), so having a real live "Ivan Drago" as champ may be exactly what the Heavyweight division needs to get some Unification Fights and evetually some respect back. Imagine, Ruiz may be the only champ this guy can actually beat and therefor Ruiz may actually help the division after all, (mind you he'll have to do it lying on his back).
Ah. Ruiz on his back. The stuff of nightmares and dreams.

If the Robot doesn't do it, it'll be Lamon. Too bad Toney can't contest for the title.

I thought I would resurrect this old post because I am still wondering the same thing "now" as I did "then" and that's; Who will be the next WBA World's Heavyweight Champ and steal Don King's Belt??? And for those who so loved Vitali, I'd also liked to say, "I told ya!!!", the guy retires before ever beating a World Champion how could he ever really be considered a "former World Champion" when he never did beat a Champion????????????
Who has Vitali defended his title against? And were any of them on your top 5 Heavyweight list? That's what I wanna know ...
Haha, did you actually give me bad karma for that? Calm down son. I thought I was clear in my post, but I will give you the replay. I agree his comp level is not steller, none of the champs have a great list though. Ruiz has been humiliated several times, Byrd has been blasted out, dominated, and given a few gifts from the judges against weak comp, Brewster needed help against Meehan and has lost to crap fighters.
To answer your question, no Vitali has not beat a top 5 fighter as a belt holder , but neither has any of the other champs. Byrd was not the defending champ when he beat VK, Ruiz did not beat Toney, Toney beat himself, Brewster was not a champ against Wlad.
So the answer is no across the board.
Now I ask you, has any of the champs defended and defeated a top 5 fighter?
Byrd, Ruiz, and Brewster have all been completely out matched, out gunned, and out fought in their career, so far VK has not. Vitali has not had to be saved by the judges like the other champs. When Vitali wins, he demolishes his opponent. When Vitali loses, he was still very competitive. This is why, even though VK has not fought a long list of P4P fighters, he is still #1 at this time.
That being said, I think Byrd-Williamson will have the honor of handing over one of Don Kings belts first to either Wlad or Peter. I would give Ruiz a strong edge over McBride and fully excpect another DKP fighter to take the manditory spot for the WBA before Ruiz has to fight again.
Are you kidding me? Who has Vitali fought in a title defense? The guy beat a bum to get Lennox's belt; A bum who whipped his brother who is ranked where? How can you dispute the question posed while being afraid to say the names of the "real world championship contenders" this guy has beatin' since actually getting the belt?
Toney vs Ruiz sold 6,000 tickets in MSG. They gave a ton of tickets to September 11 families to try to make it look more filled. Do you think Don King wants to promote John Ruiz anymore and lose money?

...Ruiz almost as bad as Vitali?? Shut the fuck up!!! Don't even mention those two guys in the same breath again assneck.
Who has either beaten to retain their titles. Bums, all of 'em bums, at least in recent meory for Ruiz, and Shitco ain't never even beat a champion. You are a for real, 100%, undeniable moron if you don't think these guys are paper champions and a disrespect to the division.

Nickolay Valuev will take Ruizes title, and what is still up with the KLitschko hating what the hell is wrong wit u people, Wlad is fighting Peter for the ibf eliminator and Vitali is gonna fight his mandatory which is winner of Rahman Barret, and must I remind u people again and again that Vitali was injured...
whoever beats him will just give up the title and then ruiz can win it again while its vacant like after jones beat him.
And to be honest, if a title is measured by the man who wears it, then shouldn't Brewster's WBO title get more respect than the other three jokes of champions?
Vitali is the guy I think of when I think of the heavyweight champion, but Brewster is by far the guy I most respect. I think he could unify the belts if given the chance.
Toney already stole it and suddenly came up with steroids. Why should we expect any different if someone else beats Ruiz? Not necessarily steroids, but something else will come up. Forget Ruiz and his garbage title
Toney could have faught Ruiz on steroids, off steroids, on crack, off crack, on cocaine, off cocaine, drunk, not drunk and would still kick Ruiz's ass.:haha:
i dont care who takes john the bum ruiz's title. hell, id be happy even if byrd or mcbride beats him. i dont care i just want the bum ruiz gone.
id prefer valuev.
