1. Floyd Mayweather 34-0 (23 KO's)
After Making Arturo Gatti look like a "C" fighter, Pretty Boy is the King of the Boxing World right now!
2. Ronald Wright 49-3 (25 KO's)
Winky's Dominance of Tito Trinidad, coupled with Bernard Hopkins loss to Jermain Taylor vaults him to the #2 spot.
3. Bernard Hopkins 46-4-1 (32 KO's)
Even with his loss to Taylor, given the man has only lost one fight in 12 years, still keeps him close to the top.
4. Marco Antonio Barrara 60-4 (42 KO's)
Big wins in 2004 over Erik Morales and Paulie Ayala get him back to the top of the division, but Morales and Manny Pacquiao are looming closely!
5. Erik Morales 48-2 (34 KO's)
Coming off a huge win over Pacquiao and a loss to Barrera, he's slated to face Zahir Rahim in LA on September 10.
6. Manny Pacquiao 39-3-2 (31 KO's)
Faces Hector Velazquez on September 10 in LA, look for him, Morales and Barrera to be this generation's Leonard, Hagler, and Hearns with mega fights against each other.
7. Jermain Taylor 24-0 (17 KO's)
Big win over Bernard Hopkins vaults him into the top 10, but he'll have to win the rematch to get close to the top!
8. Diego Corrales 40-2 (33 KO's)
Vicory over Jose Luis Castillo will go down as one of the best fights of all time and the rematch could be even better!
9. Juan Manual Marquez 44-2-1 (33 KO's)
Very steady fighter and he's the King of the 126 lb class right now!
10. Zab Judah 34-2 (25 KO's)
Has a long awaited bout with Sharmba Mitchell on the horizon and could face the likes of Floyd Mayweather or Shane Mosley in the future.
The Knicks won championships in 1970 and 73, I became a fan in 1974.
Then they had very good teams in the late 80's and early 90's during the height of the Jordan era.
Then in 1994 it was finally the knicks year. Jordan had retired. We had Pat Riley as coach, all the planets seemed aligned.
I'm not sure if I remember perfecty because I've tried to block out the pain, but I believe the Knicks went up 3 games to 2. All we had to do was win one of the last 2 games. In game 6 we were ahead and seemed to be cruising in the Garden when IT happened...The channel switched from the NBA fucking finals to follow OJ Simpson fleeing down the road in the back of Al Cowlings SUV. I couldn't fucking believe it. After what felt like an eternity had passed they went back to the game action and suddenly the Knicks were behind and ultimately lost the game. Then in game 7 I believe it was one of the most appalling cold streaks i've ever seen overtook John Starks. he threw up what seemed like 50 3 pointers and not a single one hit. I wass at a sports bar with a table full of friends and my girlfriend at the time and I was pleading with the tv for Starks to STOP SHOOTING!!!
Alas it was not to be...
I was very pleasantly surprised in 1999 when my overachieving Knicks shooked the world and made it to the finals against the Spurs. Of course they lost 4 games to 1 but I couldn't be more proud of that team.
I can't remember a happy moment as a Knicks fan since then.
On a whole I think coming so close and then failing so many times may actually be more painful than being a Clippers fan and just accepting that your team has no chance. lol
Damn,in a age of wagonhoppers, you a loyal fan.
thats beautiful, even i dropped one team in the Dodgers and became Los Angeles Angels fan, im a hopper now, i love my Lakers but your Knicks are pathetic now and you stick by them, thats being a true loyal fan, not me, i messed myself up
No way are the Suns the Dallas Mavericks. Two different teams with different players. The biggest difference is Amare/Dirk, Amare is a tough hardnosed inside player while Dirk is a soft jump shooter.
Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion are also better than anyone the Mavs had, Joe Johnson is also a shut down defender. Suns have also added Kurt Thomas and Raja Bell two tough ass defenders.
BTW I love The Knicks they take every bad contract we have. Marbury, Penny and now Q.
Hey Knicks fans won championships back then and have had pretty good teams, most Knicks fans who couldnt stand losing became Nets fans, Now think about this, be a Clippers fan, wonder if you will ever win? Do you
I havent had it bad, as a Laker fan but neither have the Knicks

The Big Ten is overlooked as a whole in the NCAA. We get virtually no respect for basketball or football and continually get ranked lower than we deserve.
For real. Just look at the Final Four this year...a lot of people couldn't have even imagined that two Big Ten squads would make it in.
As much as I despise MSU, I was pretty happy they made it in just because it was another Big Ten team reppin.

ahahaha this thread got jacked and turned into a college football thread.
Anyways, yes I said it before and I'll say it again...the Big Ten will rise to the forefront in the near future. The conference in general plays the most physically degenerating style of football that you'll find. Michigan, Iowa and Ohio State are all dangerous teams.
Of course nobody is going to be able to handle the Henne/Hart connection this year though. Best young QB/RB tandem in the nation. We also have the second coming of Braylon Edwards in Adrian Arrington. Couple that with Steve Breaston, Jason Avant, Max Martin, and the #1 running back recruit Kevin Grady. Damn I can't wait for the season to start. Michigan football is the only thing that gets me through the first semester.
Try being a knicks fan.

Haha yeah that was a pretty stupid move on the part of the Lakers.
you see this, you laughed, my team is a joke, i remember when the trade happened, people who post in boxingscene said it wasnt the worst ever trade in NBA history, the reason they said that was cause i started a thread that said Lakers trade Shaq, The Worst trade in NBA history, they kept saying it was not the worst ever trade, i remember a jack_the_rippuh always saying im a fool, Kobe is in the team and LA will be fine, now we as in LA are a joke,
Darius Miles did not fail in the Clippers. He was about to blossom with Q Richardson until the Clippers front office decided they need a point guard so they traded him. But Miles is more of a wing men while Brown is an inside player. Believe me Kwame Brown has more potential than Burnett can ever be
We'll see and Miles wasnt anything special in LA. Maybe Kwame has what it takes but what shows you this anyway?
you made me sound stupid, i took minutes explaining that with so many words and you used 4 words, San Antonio, you should crown MVP of the finals to Mitch Kupchak Or even Jerry Buss for trading the Big Fella

No Shaq, No Ship.

How sad it is, we are talking about can the Lakers make the playoffs, im a Laker fan and like i knew last year, they wont make the playoffs, the Clippers have a better shot, they picked up Cuttino Mobley, i believe,
The Lakers should betalking about titles, they gave the league to San Antonio and the Lakers took out the Spurs anytime they wished in the playoffs,
Spurs should thank Mitch Kupchak for breaking up the team when Shaq had 2 years left in his contract cause LA was the dominant team in the West, all the time, in the playoffs ,when it mattered
No Shaq, No Ship.
USC baby, the champ. I just wish Leinart should have turn pro. I want to see John Booty. I know Leinart was remarkable but Booty has more tools and better pro potential.
As far as the NBA go, I think the Spurs will repeat, they are very resilient. Suns and Mavs will probably rack a lot of Ws in regular season but they gonna fall again in the playoff. The Lakers will gonna make the playoff especially if Kwame Brown experiment will work out.

Kwame Brown is only 23 and still has not reach his potential and not on his prime yet. He has the potential to be like Jermaine O neal. remember he could not get big minutes down in Portland but blossomed at Indiana. I think the change of scenery will be great for him. At least he does not have to worry about who gets the blame because Kobe will.
That could be true. More than the O Neal comparsion, I see the Darius Miles comparsion better. He came into his own in Portland after failing in LA and CLE. He is not a superstar but check his numbers out at the end of the year. The guy picked his game up. So yeah Ill give Brown a chance but I just see that Burnett comparsion fitting well. Being always a prospect but never becoming what he could have.

I dont Kwame Brown doing anything. Hes the less productive AJ Burnett of Basketball.

As much as I dislike Florida they have a really good young team. I wouldnt be suprised to see Leak take a Heisman before hes gone. They would give trouble to any elite team right now. As for LSU (being a big LSU fan) Saban leaving will defintley hurt them but picking up the most hyped and best prospect QB out of High School this past year still shows that they have big potential. They always contend and also were Co National Champs with USC two years ago. Dont be surpised to see LSU do big things, they are always a top 15 team and make a serious run at big bowl games every year.
As for the Suns, To me I just see them as a more talented Dallas Mavericks. Mavs gave em hell in the playoffs and I dont think the Suns have much of a chance againest the likes of San Antonio and Miami. Once the Suns realize that you have to play good defense they will become a force but for now they are riding the Mavs train of 3 years ago.
