Having great speed doesn’t always result in great power. Floyd’s possesses decent power but nothing excellent. He can knock out opponents but not as consistently as someone like Corrales whom he ironically knocked down 5 times…lol. His skills and agility at the moment though are unmatched and he can overwhelm a foe with his innate speed and accuracy.
floyd does not have one punch power but he dishes out alot of punishment do to his speed and accuracy also he has always had problems with his hands so i don't think he puts everything into his punches ...i still consider him a devastating fighter even without the one punch power because of the punsihments he dishes out in a fight trust me... i rather get ktfo quick than take a a beating thru a couple of rnds.
He never really hurt Gatti with any individual punch. The collective abuse he laid on him sure as hell did though.
^^^^ Agreed...also, PBF doesn't hit HARD, he hits alright for a 140 pounder. its his devastating speed that gets his opponents stunned
one thing for sure , he has grown enough mass and has healed his hands enough to hurt a BIG 140 pounder like gatti

remeber that at 135 everybody thought he couldnt crack an egg ? but that was due to his hands and not reaching his physical prime , IMO
Floyd doesn't need to hit hard. He probably can hit with some power, but his hands are fragile. His speed and accuracy allow him to put guys on their asses, but you never really see him knock anybody completely out.
There's a difference between knockdown and knockout power. Floyd has knockdown power.
Saint,
Wilde hit EXTREMELY hard. I've seen footage of him and he was not as quick and accurate as you think. He could be very wild with his punches, it's just that his fists were like cinderblocks. Very heavy hitter, said by many to carry pound for pound the heaviest punch of all time. He knocked out a few middleweights in fact, despite weighing only a little over a 100 pounds.
He's a SHARP hitter......incredibly accurate, & puts his shots together perfectly.
He hits as hard as he needs to, considering his all around game is so incredible.
He's not much like Jimmy Wilde. Wilde was not super quick with his hands; he just hit as hard as hell. Mayweather has average power for a Jr. welter (he was powerful at lightweight). Nothing more, nothing less. With hands as quick as those, average power = devastation.
like i said, wilde didnt hit hard, he had perfect timing and accuracy. u dont need power when u have timing and accuracy.

hes sort of like jimmy wilde: u dont need power if you have accuracy and timing. just find that one sweet spot on any fighters chin and hes gone. of course, PBF is nowhere near the hitter jimmy wilde was.
His talent allows him not to have to be the hardest hitter, as for the other thread about moving to 154 for a fight with Winky - he really would lack power.....please.
Is Mayweather a hard hitter?
Emmanuel Steward called Winning gloves pillows
Mayweather wears winning gloves
His shots sound like thunder
What you think?
I think he is a good hard hitter. He has good strenght in his upper body, I think he has a good stiff jab because of it. His punches are crisp and his combo's are lightening fast. To me he is one of the best all around P4P fighters there is and probably ever will be.
i was watching a video of him working the mitts, he is fast as hell put he didnt seem to have much power.
ash gatti, how are we supposed to kno if he is a hard hitter? he has a decent KO %
