Looking at the fight Hopkins had plenty of gas in the tank, versus Taylor who just seemed to have ran out of gas, becuase he kind of just faded late. If this fight were 15rds like back in the day Taylor would of gotten laid out in the 13th or 14th rd.

unfortunately, IF's don't win fights mate. I suppose if it were an 8 round fight, Taylor would have won also, and IF it were a 6 round fight, and even IF it were stopped after the cut in the 5th........
look forward to the rematch.

Yeah but it wasn't it was 12 which is what he trained for, if it had been 15 he would fought a little different, he fought a great 12 round fight considering he was being fouled all night by B-hop and the ref was allowing it.
Also, the judges wouldn't neet to attend fights because they'd never go to the decision and B-Hop could never get screwed again! I am a fan of this 763, 120 round rule.
If the fight were 763,120 rounds then there is no way that it would have gone to decision! I think that this fight proves that 763,120 round fights are just what this sport is begging for. This way there would never again be a crooked winner! Unless somebody takes a dive, but to solve that we could just have the fighters go until they were literally incapable of throwing another punch, that way nobody could fake it!
I gathered your reasoning for calling him "Borekins." Just because you and several other people think he is a boring fighter doesn't mean anything. He fought a very smart fight and I'm sorry if it didn't please you. All Jermain did was throw leather. Nothing really effected B-Hop. But, B-Hop started throwing in the later rounds and those punches were effective. Hmm, still bored with how he fights? What makes Jermain Taylor so entertaining? All he did was waste his energy. Good fight, B-Hop. And as far as "nut-hugging" goes, you should read some of my other posts. I clearly stated that I thought Taylor won more rounds. Oh snap, I guess that means I'm hugging Bernard's balls. *slaps himself on the hand.* Bad Seven!
"Borekins." Wow, you really made fun of B-Hop with that one. I hope you feel real proud of yourself. Jermain did lose a lot of blood, yes. But he also spent a lot of energy in the first rounds of the fight. So, it is partially HIS fault too. And B-Hop didn't mean to headbutt him. It was ruled an accidental headbutt. And yes, I know Bernard isn't the cleanest fighter, but then again, niether am I. I like his style of fighting.
If 'if's and but's' were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas. And B-Hop would still be Undisputed Middleweight Champ. But they're not and B-Hop lost because of a stupid ass judge.:(

If it was 15 rounds, Hopkins would also lose. He's gonna start his attack in the 13th rd after giving some rounds to JT. Then he cant take out JT, and he would lose in the cards via split.
i agree. taylor's chin is not that good.
dts the first time I've seen him stunned. u can't say he was hurt cuz he didn't get noodle legs. just cuz a fighter gets stunned twice in a fight against a fighter who has a record of 46-3-1 with 32 wins by KO don't mean he have a bad chin cuz obviously 32 other ppl were KO'd by him. i'd say its taylor's defense that isn't that good, not so much his chin
Hard to say. If it was 15 rounds, both would probably train to build up stamina harder. Hopkins would have probably waited till round 12 to get going. Who knows.
But really, who cares?

I agree...Taylor was hurt..
i agree... hopkins just toyed taylor
i dont even think he was that serious in this fight unlike the last time he fought trinidad or dela hoya
taylor was even shocked he won
Normally I don't buy this sort of argument, but in this case it sort of makes sense, and I was thinking along those lines as well. I think that if the fight was 15 rounds Taylor still would have come out early and worn himself out. He wasn't working at a 12-round pace, so I don't think his gameplan would have changed in a 15-round situation. If you wear yourself out you wear youself out, you know? So Hopkins would have still gotten the advantage in rounds 9 and 10 and would have had more time to win either on points on maybe even by KO/TKO...and this is all coming from someone who thought Taylor won the fight, in case you think I'm being biased.
By the way, if it were 5 rounds, Taylor wins by UD...
This theory is seriously flawed, as both fighters would fight differently knowing there were 3 extra rounds...
It was a 12 round fight! B-Hop knew that ahead of time, and HE was the one who waited.
This was Taylor's FIRST BIG FIGHT. He got gassed early, not because of conditioning, but because of inexperience. He didn't pace himself well, he was anxious and therefor tired easier in the earlier rounds.
It had a lot less to do with conditioning, and more with big fight experience. How many times has Taylor even gone 12 rounds? You don't just hop in the ring with Nard and expect to run 12 rounds at the pace he set.
WHY do you think fighters work their way up into longer fights, rather than going 12 rounds early in their career?
That's pretty common boxing knowledge... Wow.
Who is to say that Taylor or Hopkins would have fought the same way if the fight was 15 rounds.
Exactly, Hopkins would prolly give up more rounds but Taylor would be woren out in the last round and possible KD or 2 or KO maybe..
For his age, his conditioning was HORRIFIC
