After reading through the front page predictions on the Taylor vs Hopkins fight it is irritating me that quotes like these are getting printed and posted in every article.
Hopkins on the other hand is a 40 year old fighter on top of the world, but age is quickly catching up to him.
I realize it is all hype for a fight but everyone is saying Taylor is bigger, stronger, faster and yada yada yada. While 40 might be getting Hopkins down, he is one of the most conditioned athletes EVER and Hopkins has never been a fast guy. What makes Hopkins so great is that he is crafty and sneaky as hell and knows every trick in the book and writes his own in each and every fight.
Taylor hasnt fought anyone as experienced as Hopkins and has never even been in with a fighter similar to Hopkins style and that is suicide come Saturday.
NO SERIOUSLY, THATS JUST CUZ I HAVE CAPS LOCK ON see now its off, my bad if it offended you
Didn't offend me at all.
I was trying to be funny. MY bad, if I wasn't !

Yes.....you are capitalizing the first letter of every word. The admins take away 25 posts from your total for doing so.

Ok, I dont know much about boxing cause I'm not excited to see a boring PPV card for 50 bucks, to see the main even of Hopkins vs. a prospect, you caught me. :o
You havent PM'd me yet buddy, cmon get that cell number to me so we can talk about Trinidad this weekend, I will even give you round by round updates of that shitty PV card you cant afford!
Why wouldnt you want to talk to a fellow fan of the sport that you love so dearly, think about it me and you reminiscing about Trinidad v. Campos or Trinidad v. Blocker, it will be fucking awesome.
It appears to me that many (many- not all) people who are not
American seem to really loathe Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones, & James Toney..
Why ?
Yet they love Mike Tyson.... :nonono:

Well, now you are acting like the reason you don't have any good karma is because of your opinons on Boxing, when it's actually the intelligence of your posts, but I'll help you out, here's some karma.
Slipx, you've had your fair share of arguments with other members. You've never rec'd negative karma for something you said to another member?? Karma is unfortunately not solely based on boxing knowledge is what people say to each other as well.
Nevertheless, thank you for your kind donation. :D
Thats right Hopkins isnt a big puncher and he knows that. He will use his tricks to hurt you more than power ever could. Hopkins does some crazy things in the ring to break down his opponents which is worst than taking a few hard shots.
Hopkins is one of the very few fighters who can take his weaknesses and make him stronger.
No doubt, but his work rate is low at times, I think Taylor can overcome his mistakes by outworking and being more physical than BHop. We'll see tho'
I just think Taylor can outwork Hopkins, Hop ain't a big puncher so I don't think he will hurt Taylor either.

Who the hell cares about Karma?? I have rec'd a few good karma points as well as negative ones, that's the price you pay when you come to a forum to discuss boxing. Everyone shares their own opinions and thoughts regardless whether it's the same as others or not. I'm here to talk about boxing not looking for bets or points or karma. In my previous post I didn't say 1 word about power.
A fighter doesn't have to have power to knock someone down. Example, Spinks knocking down Judah. Do you consider Spinks a power puncher?? Exactly!

This is why you almost had 300 posts and still no good karma. You are acting like power is the deciding factor in all Boxing matches.
Well you're wrong..
Taylor pressuring him is exactly what Nard will take advantage of, and don't use a punchy Joppy as a comparison please...a guy the one dimensional Tito Trinidad made a fool out of.

Spinx, I'm not disagreeing with you. I agree with you on your reply post.
Taylor has been called the prince to the middleweight throne for a while but his competition have noted otherwise and come Saturday night Hopkins will expose him like the Jester he is.
haha, you should have sold that line to HBO for their promos. Having Hopkins say "bring it on" it a little been there done that :D .
lol right
i just think all this people saying hop is over rated should really look at what he has done. and the ones who says age is caching up to him should get in the ring with him to see how old he really looks like
You know what else bugs me about Hopkins' critics? They say two things that are completly contradictory. First they say that Hopkins does nothing but take easy opponents in order to pad his defences, and that when he fights them he takes it easy and only does just enough to win, and is not a true warrior, blah blah blah. And then they say how Hopkins is supposedly no good because he couldn't KO the likes of Joppy and Eastman. I mean, wtf, how can he be taking it easy and KOing guys at the same time? You can't have it both ways.
well said jefe, i have a new respect for you as an expert fan.

If I remember correct Taylor dropped Joppy in the 2nd round so , I think you can count that as being hurt and I don't recall Hopkins dropping Joppy in their fight. Marquez gave him trouble??? Come on man, Jermain pounded this guy and KO'D him out in the 9th. I'm not down playing Hopkins. Hopkins has great strategy in picking fighters apart but, IMO if Taylor pressures him and doesn't sit there and wait for bernard...Taylor by UD.
Marquez might have been stopped in the 9th but it was apparent Jermain had flaws and was caught by Raul a few times. Dont try to act like it didnt happen either, Taylor said after the fight he had a lot of flaws and it was a poor performance and he was able to hit him with some decent shots.
That was Taylors biggest step up and he wasnt in trouble but Raul gave him fits. Raul isnt even a big guy. I believe Taylor has the goods but he has no experience and his caliber of opponents isnt even top 15-20 material.
I still give Taylor a pretty good chance because of his jab and I have said in this past that Hopkins has never really had to deal with a strong jab but at the same time Taylor has never dealt with a fighter like Hopkins.
But my drum would be beating to a different tune if Taylor would have had more experience. If Taylor would have fought the likes of Ikeke, Echols, Soliman and a few others perhaps he would have been a bit more groomed.

Taylor doesn't stand in that forward leaning somewhat off balance inmobile style that Trinidad does though.
