These two future Hall of Fame fighters both have awsome legacys and have beaten top competion. With three fantasic fights between them they have created one of the best trilogys in boxing today. But my question is.. When its all said and done who is going to be remembered as the greater figher?
And theres really no way to gage who's better from those fights anyway because many boxing fans are pretty much sold on Morales clearly winning the second fight.
I had Morales clearly beating Barrera in the second fight as well, great point
In my opinion this one is easy.
Barrera
He won 2 of 3 head to head.
But that's really the only thing he has on Morales...I could name 5 things that Erik has on Barrera. And theres really no way to gage who's better from those fights anyway because many boxing fans are pretty much sold on Morales clearly winning the second fight.
He beat an overated Sharmba Mitchell and people still remember his victories over Julio Cesar Chaves in 95 and victories over a Miguel Angel Gonzales and Jesse James Leija in their prime. I didnt have Kostya Tsyzu in my top 10 after beating Mitchell.
at that time....who were some of the fighters IN your P4P list then?

1.) Im not angry.
2.) What the fuck does P4P have to do with anything. Who did Kostya Tszyu beat to make him universally reknown as arguably the best P4P fighter earlier this year?

I take Erik Morales over MAB. Like previously said by others, he has beaten the tougher competition. Although technically MAB has a the edge in head to head encounters, it could be the other way around depending on who you talk to. Anyways, both are hall of famers but El Terrible is one of my favorite fighters, so i choose him.
Who was in their in the pound 4 pound ranks that Hamed beat and try to focus on the argument instead of getting angry, calling names and getting out of argument subject

I dont know what you smoked, or why it affected you so much.

I dont know about that being totally true. Hamed did beat some good fighters over his career. Kevin Kelley, Wayne McCullough and Paul Ingle are just the ones I can remmeber off the top of my head. Im pretty sure his resume has some other good fighters on it.
Like you said, hes only beaten good fighters, their are no great fighters in his resume. Their is no fighters in their to make hamed pound for pound of all weight classes like people said he was. Hameds career was finished when Barrera exposed Hamed phoniness. Hamed was the favorite vs Barrera by at least 5 to 1 vs Barrera.
I like them equal to be in the future HoF. As people already said, Morales has beaten those that Barrera couldn't and was never dominated in any fights the way Barrera has. He can change his game up whenever he wants and is able to control the tempo at whatever pace he changes his game to. Barrera although fun to watch and is very skillful and a master of the sport, he seems to have one style. That usually would be a counterpuncher although not to the extent of Juan Manuel Marquez. He'll go at you when he pleases although is more reluctant to. Barrera's opposition has been nice as well though not nearly as good as Morales. I'd say Morales is ahead on the margin though they should both be FoH without a doubt.
, He has never beaten a top notch elite fighter

Hamed beat:
Johnson
Kelley
Soto
Medina
Molina
Ingle
Vazquez
Bungu
McCullough
Like him or not he was a damn good fighter and beat a lot of very good 122/126 pounders.
Well thanks to Gringo who has a better memory than I do, theres the list. But we both were getting at the same point.
Maybe it because Barrera bores me, i think Morales is more aggressive and thats very important when i score a fight. all the fights were really close but i think Morales was slighty more effective.
EDIT: i score effective aggression highly, not just aggression.
Are you joking eleviel? Barrera is the agressor in most of his fights. Morales backs up and uses the jab. You might be confusing me with this "effective agression" thing.

You are a complete bias English fan iffrom Manchester since you dont give Barrera any credit vs Hamed. Hamed is overated as can be, He has never beaten a top notch elite fighter and when he did, he was scared to death and had the ref protecting him during their fight , lets not forget the fight was in England

morales at the end of his career will have a better legacy. erik has beaten tougher competition and to me is a better fighter. erik lost 2 fights to barrera because he has so much hatred towards him , that he loses his cool , 4gets about his boxing abilities and goes nuts.

Morales will be remembered as the greater fighter. MAB is just a bad match up for him. There resumes aren't even really close Morales has fought and beaten a much higher level of oposition.
Dont forget MAB has also also had his ass handed to him by Junior Jones2x and Pac-Man two guys Morales beat.
36-0 at 122. Has fought and beaten better competition (arguably)
Fights top notch comp all of the time and never avoids a big fight.
Has only ever lost to Barrera, both times were close, and their second fight was very controversial.
He's never been knocked down and has one of the best chins ever seen at lighter weights.
Barrera has been dominated and KOed on more than one occasion...Morales hasn't.
Erik is a more versatile fighter. He can take the lead and box using his range, he can sit back and counter punch beautifully, or he can go to war whenever he feels like it.
He could potentially be the first Mexican 4 class world champ at lighter weights. He is ambitious and it seems like everyone else is chasing him up the ranks.
He is fearless and NEVER puts on a bad show....he has a heart the size of Mexico.
This^^^ was my response to a similar question in another thread. I think Morales has more left in the tank than does Barrera and is much more ambitious. When all is said and done Morales will have the better legacy. As it is hes probably one of the 3 greatest 122 pounders ever. Morales can box/brawl/counterpunch/younameit and that is what will help him succeed at higher weights with more dangerous punchers. I don't see Barrera even having a chance against a fighter like Juan Lazcano, Julio Diaz, Acelino Freitas, Castillo or Corrales...
Morales is greater, hes beaten tougher competition like DanielZaragosa, Injin Chi,Wayne Mc Collough in prime, Kevin Kelley in prime,Jesus Chavez,Carlos Hernandez, while beating the opposition Marco got whupped by,Morales has proven in their first fight with Barrera he can also beat Barrera,Morales has a clear victory in many peoples opinion vs barrera in their second fight ,Barrera barely edged out a fat Morales in their third fight.Barrera is a fighter whos real rise to glory came against an overated Hamed.
