On Sept 17 Barrara is going to fight Robbie Peden. First off, I see know way, outside a lcky punch, (I doubt Barrara will drop his hands and let him have a fee shot) that Peden can win.
Second, Why is this fight a PPV. One of the major problems with boxing right now is the fact that there are way to many PPV fights.
wtf are YOU talkin about man, first off let me make this clear, marco antonio barrera is my favourite boxer EVER. i have all of his fights and have been a fan of his when he fought mckinney back in 1996. i think barrera is a LEGEND, better than morales and a top 5 pound for pound fighter. just look at his recent competition apart from morales, he aint testing himself, certain fighters shouldnt even be in the ring with him yet he fights them, do you remember when barrera NEVER catered to belts, he said he just wants to fight the best fighters out there, regardless of belts and thats what he did, barrera used to just vacate belts that he won in order to fight the best but that aint happening no more. look at morales and chico corrales as examples of just fighting good level of competition, morales aint got no belt and he still fights top fighters, morales could have easily seeked out to fight peden or the wba or wbo superfeatherweight champ to get a belt but he dont do that, he just fights top fighters.
i aint even criticizing barreras whole career, im just pointin out that before he got beat by pacquiao he was fighting some weak opponents and got a rude awakening by pacman, all im sayin is i hope this dont happen to him again if he fights a top fighter because recently he has been fighting bums, who the hell is fana, fana does not deserve to be in the ring with barrera, so what if he is hes mandatory, the old barrera would have vacated that belt to fight someone more challenging. and im sure the majority of barrera fans would like to see him face marquez or as you put it the 'underdesirable fight in marquez' then him fightin fana. barreras goin down as a LEGEND and a hall of fame fighter, and hes my FAVOURITE BOXER, but im just callin it how i see it.
so before you say i aint makin no sense, check the facts and check yourself.
Everything you said there, was a long winded justification for your first error, as well as a matter of opinion concerning their respective levels of opposition.

Pacquiao offers Barrera something very important, Redemtion.
your right, and thats why i dont want him fighting fighters like peden or fana, he needs to fight pacquaio before he gets any older, redemption is the perfect word you used when it comes to barrera fighting pacquaio again.
i agree with you when you say nothings keepin barrera from doing that, i really hope he fights pacquaio after peden, but barrera might look at pacquaio and think he doesnt offer him anything, barreras gonna have 2 belts after he beats peden and then he might think pacquaio doesnt have anythin. im hopin he doesn't think this and i hope he gets in the ring with him to back up what he says about his loss to pacquaio being down to his interuppted training regime up in big bear (fires, brain scans, etc..)

so what's keeping him from doing that? i don't think there wont be any difference w/ regards to the outcome. it might not be like that worst but still pac still wins if they rematch.

Here's my answer to your post just in case you haven't read it yet...
Idiot!
Barrera = Win
Marquez = Draw (Win unofficially...you can ask the idiot judges!)
3K Battery = Win
Morales = Loss (1st LOSS in 9(?) years!)
What are you smoking?! A godzhand?!
if barrera fights pacquaio again im sure it could possibly be different, maybe pacman has his number but barreras a smart fighter and he could make adjustments for manny, he would have learnt from that night he lost to pacquaio and learnt from morales and marquez about how to fight manny, and im sure he wants to fight him again, he even said he has to fight pacquaio again because he is like a thorn in his side that wont go away until he fights him again.
I'm glad Barrera is taking this fight. He's unifying some belts (something Morales spent 2/3 of 2004 doing) and it's gonna be an explosive fight that Barrera SHOULD win.
However, if Barrera wants to be great, he has to at least try to avenge his loss to Pacquiao. If he loses again, so what, Pacquiao has his number. But if he doesn't try for a rematch, he will be a wuss forever
i agree.... barrera has to prove something against pac ;)
wtf are you talking about.
Fana was the mandatory challenger for the wbc superfeatherweight title. He was his first opponent he faced after kicking Morales' ass all over the ring, and was making a damn defense.
Why should he seek out fights? He is the damn champion, and people should try and make a fight happen with him.
So you are saying he should vacate his world title in order to fight the undesirable fight in Marquez?
How do you HAVE to seek out tougher fights in a year's time, by refusing to accept a mandatory or be stripped.
Your making no sense man.

1. Overrated Naseem Hamed
2. Old Kevin Kelley
3. Past his prime and friend Johnny Tapia
4. Shoulda been retired, no power Paulie Ayala
5. nobody knows Monkey Fana on PPV
I dont see how Naseem is overated. The guy had a almost perfect record with most of them being KOs. Yes it was lame that he retired after losing once, but I dont belive he's overrated.
The funny thing is, the only big Barrera fans in here are no other than:
ThaGreatest(me)
Runw/knives
Godzhand
Just to let everyone know, Barrera is the real deal, he will be the next great legend....(even though he is already one)
Easily my favorite fighter of this era.
Add me to that list!

after this fight with peden i hope barrera starts to step up his competition. hopefully he will fight paquiao, chavez, hernandez, even marquez (if he was to come up in weight) after this fight.
this is what happened to barrera before pacquiao beat him, he waas fighting average fighters who didnt even belong in the ring with him and then when he fought pacquiao he struggled.
i expect barrera to win comfortably, perhaps with a late KO
Wasn't the Chavez v. Hernandez fight the eliminator to see who fight Barrera?
this is going to be a difficult fight for barrera.........peden is no pushover and he has a big heart.........i think peden will push and even hurt barrera..........i pick barrera by a hard fought close decision.

Peden is a bit ackward, and i remember when he fough Marquez. Peden's one tough dude, Marquez was beating his body so bad when he was in his stool he threw up ALOT. He fights alot like Chavez and Hernandez, though has a tendency to put his hands down. I think the better boxer will win, Barrera in 5 with hard, precise, counter punches.
Have you guys even seen Peden fight? "Barrera KO4 Peden" WTF is that?
PEDen is the IBF champ, so damn right this should be PPV.
Barrera is my 5th fav fighter, but damn, i know he aint gonna win this easy. I see a very late stoppage on the part of Barrera, OR Peden. Peden is a very very good fighter.
