He made all his professional fights between 129,5lbs and 140lbs., his three fights at 140lbs. weight class he weighted 140, 139 and 139. Except from the first fight at 140, he went up in weight 10 lbs., going to 147lbs will be 7-8lbs. more. Will he preserve his speed at 147?
Zab Judah began at 140lbs. weight class, and he weighted 142-141 most of the time, then moved to 147, he is bigger, as some others on this weight class, actually some of the guys at 147lbs. enter the ring at more than that, I believe big guys like Vernon Forrest at 147lbs went to the ring at more than 147.
JMM OWNS PBF...end of thread!
*goes to sleep*
you must be dome..... and how the fuk is this end of thread, wen thts not wat the dam thread is about u prick
Mayweather will only get hit flush if he allows it to happen. I don't think he would have to sacrifice anything. His quickness, speed and counterpunching ability along with his defense will get him through with almost every fighter from 147 on down. Judah is the only one he won't be faster then but I still think he would outpoint Judah over the distance.
Every defensive wizard gets hit more when they move up in weight. Both Whitaker and Benitez were hittable as they moved up, I don't know how much of that has to do with them choosing the dark side of life, but you get my point.
Mayweather is hittable and has been hurt before. There is no reason to believe that a guy with speed/power like Judah, or a heavy puncher with quick hands like Cotto couldn't topple his rise to glory.
I believe that PBF will fight one of these guys at 147 within a year or so and I'd make both fights even money.
Here's yours :bottle: ...
I said IF they ever fought you prick! Which means IF bought are fighting at 140 or 126...IF both are of the same physique and and height...

He's going to be hit flush more and more as he moves up in weight. He's going to have to sacrifice some of his elusiveness to do damage. It comes with the territory.
Being on point defensively against Gatti and being on point defensively against elite fighters are two different things.
As far as him losing speed, I think he'd be quicker than everyone in the division by a considerable amount outside of Judah. If I had to guess Zabs speed = Floyds speed at 147.
Floyd shouldn't move up to 154 unless he goes after somebody who is harmless. Guys like Ouma and Simms would eat him up...especially Ouma.

I agree, 154lbs. guys are way bigger, even Vernon Forrest at 147lbs. was very big.
when moving to 135 ppl askedcould he still have that speed.
result - yes
wat about at 140
result - yes
hol up wat about at 147
result - wats stopping him
If Mayweather wanted to he would be impossible to hit flush. When he is on point defensively like against Gatti he can't be touched.

True. But even at that jesus. If JLC couldnt knock him out, who in the hell will?

Yeah, you raise a good point. If he can keep his speed up their size won't be a factor, but that's only if he can stay quick and fast. He's been fighting bigger guys for most of his career and spars only with bigger guys. Against most of the names people say will beat him, I think the only way for those guys to beat him is to knock him out, because at this stage of his career, if he can stay healthy and keep training...he is impossible to beat via decision.

I agree, Mayweather may be able to compete at 154 but if I were him I would stay at 140-147.
that would make sense because at 147 he may be able to retire undefeated.
ultimately i think mayweather will continue to move up until someone stops him. he is naturally gifted in a way that not many fighters have ever been and he will adapt to his weight as he moves up.
boxers all want their own legacy, mayweather wont retire wondering how far he could have gone.
