Oscar De La Hoya is a man who has done Legendary thingz in boxing, and who is very busy establishing himself as a promoter. Fair enough. But with every one and his uncle and their uncle calling Oscar out for a payday, where is the former Super Featherweight phenom who eventaully became a Middleweight Champ? Someones gotta tell him his time is running out and if the "Golden Boy" is gonna go out with a win, he's gonna have to do it soon before he finally starts to rust. Who would you like to see him fight if someone finds him, and does he win ?
no actually he didnt
hmmm when I look at Tito's record I only see 2 loses. Bernard Hopkins and WInky Wright. Unless DLH goes by one of those 2 names he didn't beat Tito.
Don't forget (like most people seem to) how long Tito was away from the ring. Oscar beat up a much better Tito than Winky did, and Oscar vs. Winky would be a much better fight compared to Winky vs. Trinidad. Zab Judah vs. De La Hoya would also not suprise me as Oscar would have a distinct advantage if he could get Judah to gain some weight. Never the less, could Oscar be making the same mistake Trinidad did if he stays away so long and attempts to fight again with the big boys?
"Since Trinidad has again retired, and De La Hoya has little to no chance of defeating Winky Wright" was that your ppst or was that in the article b/c i believe DLH has a good chance to beat winky. DLH is a boxer and not one demensional like trinidad so winky would have to work harder to beat him. Winky used Trinidad as a chew toy, he won't do the same to DLH IMO.
That statement was in the article.
I was thinking this very same thing eariler today.
I just happened to stumble onto this little article clip.

De La Hoya Eyes Fights With Vargas, Wright and Trinidad for 2006!
By G. Leon
June 28, 2005 - Yesterday afternoon, former six division champion Oscar De La Hoya informed members of the press in attendance at Bernard Hopkins open workout in Miami that the three opponents on his radar for 2006 are Winky Wright, Felix Trinidad and Fernando Vargas. Since Trinidad has again retired, and De La Hoya has little to no chance of defeating Winky Wright, Fernando Vargas seems to be the most realistic opponent of the three as of now. Vargas will face Javier Castillejo on HBO in Chicago on August 20 before he thinks about avenging his 2002 KO loss to the Golden Boy. In the past De La Hoya has said that he would never give a rematch to someone he's knocked out, apparently his opinion has changed since Vargas and not Zab Judah, Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather Jr, or Shane Mosley is among his final three choices.

Also, Varges should have like 3 more fights before he chooses to rematch DLH.
