Take a look at this article. Apparently television deals have been agreed and stuff like that, meaning an almost definite matchup.

Just thought id bring u the latest! Sorry about adding another Mayweather-Hatton thread to the list of 300 already existing ones.
floyd mayweather looked like a great fighter against gatti but i have a feeling that gatti made him look great, now im not saying he isnt good he is very good one of the best fighters around today but if he fought hatton he would not be able to pick his shots like he did against gatti, hatton would put constant pressure on him and wouldnt leave him alone, test that body and that chin, mayweather would have a comfortable lead around the fourth round but thats when things may turn round,if hatton can catch him and punish that body we will see how fast on his feet mayweather his, what ever the result it would be a great fight i just know that hatton wouldnt get made to look like gatti no way..
The way i understand it, Harris was offered something like 750,00 dollars to fight Hatton.
He turned it down and fought Urkal for something like a third of that.
Sounds like an asshole to me.
Here's the quote from Warren:
Warren: Hatton vs Maussa?
Promoter Frank Warren said today that a unification fight between IBF 140lb champ Ricky Hatton and WBA champ Carlos Maussa is "an option." Warren acknowledged a rematch clause between Maussa and dethroned champ Vivian Harris, but asked "Who is going to want to watch that rubbish again and which TV company is going to pay for it?" Warren also lashed out at Harris, whom he says rejected a $750,000 offer to fight Hatton. "Harris should have taken the money because now he will have to fight for peanuts," said Warren. "But I knew he was an idiot because after he turned down the fight with Hatton he took on Oktay Urkal for a fraction of the money we were offering him. I've never seen a champion look so bad in the ring. He was unfit and badly out of shape, I don't know what his trainer Manny Steward had been doing with him in the gym
I think that Harris turned Hatton down more as a slap in the face to Warren for not offering him what he saw as fair. I remember him saying something about Hatton's potential pay well over 3mil when he was one of the big 3 belt holders, and he was getting offerend lesser money then the challenger.
Harris is getting on my mf'ing nerves. Somebody needs to deep six his ass quickly so he will be out of the picture and we don't have to deal with him pricing himself out of fights, fighting three times in two years, and being KTFO by awkward bums.
I wonder if when he started boxing he said to himself, "you know, one day I'm going to be the recognized champ...but only after I make it as hard as possible to unify the belts."
Shit.
I can only hope he gets knocked out again. He's the pain in the ass of this division, constantly pricing himself out of fights then accusing people of ducking him.
It's better off without him as a belt holder.
Back when Hatton and that faggot Warren where trying to get a fight set up with him (pre Zoo win), they clearly made unfair demands, and offered shit money to Harris who was the champ with the better stake to fame at 140 at the time. So I don't think it's always Harris who prices himself out of fights.
With that said, I don't see a repeat performace or lack there of from Harris in the rematch.
Hmm, didn't know that.
Hopefully Harris gets his ass kicked again but i can't see him being that dumb twice.
According to this link it looks like Floyd may move up leaving Hatton with few options.
Cotto maybe.

He speaks of his for sure rematch in his 3rd response.
I have absolutely no problem with Hatton taking on Maussa next.
That way he gets both a tune up and a recognised belt.
And if Floyd doesn't move up to challenge Judah, the fight with Hatton could be made early next year.
Agreed, but Harris is using his rematch clause. So I'd imagine Hatton or Gayweather will have to fight Harris if either of them want the WBA strap.
Hatton will avoid mayweather like the plague and continue to fight a string of bums for ten fights before fighting a top caliber fighter again and all without setting foot outside of manchester.
Doubtful. Hatton just made Zoo quit and knows it's time to seek guys with belts and the top-tier contenders, since he is one of them. I'm ready to pay big for Hatton to match with May, and most of the world is also, Hatton wants it, he feels invincible right now. Choosing a "bum" won't happen, unless it's Maussa, but that's simply for the belt.
I love the repeated jabs the article takes at harris. Also eXig, I understand that Hatton fought at msg in his second pro fight, but is taht really "proving" he can fight outside the states? Also note that Im not too familiar with Hatton's career and dont feel like going to boxrec, so if he legitimately did prove himself worthy of fighting outside manchester I take my comment back.
I doubt it. Hatton will avoid mayweather like the plague and continue to fight a string of bums for ten fights before fighting a top caliber fighter again and all without setting foot outside of manchester.
A string of bums? - many would say that Hatton deserves his place in that division more than Mayweather based on the people he has fought at 140 so whats that about?
Without setting foot outside of Manchester? - well he has already proven that he can fight outside of Manchester. In fact he hasfought in the US in his professional career so whats that all about. Plus do you know some sort of information that Frank Warren doesnt? His promotors even said that he is going to fight in America so what the fuck are you talking about to be honest!
I doubt it. Hatton will avoid mayweather like the plague and continue to fight a string of bums for ten fights before fighting a top caliber fighter again and all without setting foot outside of manchester.
I love it if it was true. I just don't see it happening. Not with the press release just sent out from the Mayweather camp. Not a smart move for Hatton right now if it were to happen this soon.
