In June we've seen Mayweather completely outclass Gatti (as expected) and Hatton gave Kostya a good ole' roughin' up. So, how do you see Hatton-PBF shaping up? May definitely will not cross the pond, but probably doesn't matter since Ricky says he'll gladly go stateside. Very interested to see if Hatton's team actively seeks May, like he said they "might".
1. How do you see this match up? Is Mayweather-Hatton simply a longer version of Gatti, say 9 or 10 rounds? Or, does Hatton have what it takes to actually connect on May and make it competitive?
2. Are you interested in seeing this fight, based on how you see it going?
Well, I'm sure Mayweather will find something about the negotiations that pisses him off that he can use to motivate himself for the fight, so don't be surprised if the rhetoric starts flying early...well, seeing as he keep calling Hatton a wreslter, I guess it's already started :) .
Hatton doesnt bad mouth much but that makes it a lot more funny when he does, i remember Witter crashing his post fight interview and Hatton called him lord of the dance, which is a polite way of calling him a fag. :D
Hatton will not be able to fight his fight due to PBF defense and speed. With Ricky being a volume puncher he will need to conserve energy to chase Floyd. We have yet to see Hatton in with a guy this fast with better than average power. The Tszyu game plan will not work and Ricky is not a technically sound boxer because he gets hit too much and leaves himself open for big shots. Against a speed guy who is a technically fighter like PFB, his lack of defense and hand speed will lead to his demise. Ricky, consult Jose Luis Castillo (JLC) on how to attack PBF. Then again that might not work either.
I think Hatton's next fight will be against Mayweather at Madison Sq Gardens... He's expressing great interest in it, and so long as Mayweather is able to be reasonable about the negotiations... It should all go ahead!

All I'm saying Bombardier, black jesus, and Munn... I think it'll be a close fight between the two. Mayweather may win a lot of the earlier rounds... But like I've seen time and time again, Hatton will get faster, and faster, and faster as the fight progresses, and he'll drag Mayweather into a fight he doesn't want to be in.
No one has been able to stop Hatton fighting Hatton's fight before in 39 fights... And I'm starting to think, no one is gonna be able to stop Hatton fighting Hattons fight.
The way to beat Hatton is to beat him at his own game... And Mayweather is not strong enough to do that in my opinion.
Your forgetting...who has stopped Mayweather? Who displays the superior boxing capability? Who has the superior defense?

If that fight is made, & is held at MSG....I am there !

Well, let's hope the fight gets scheduled so we can find out for sure either way  .
I don't think Floyd will start ducking... I'm just nervous he may take the RJJ route, because I've seen a few American superstars do it before.
I hope he doesn't... I'm just think he may take the easy route?
I hope Hatton doesn't start ducking anyone...........

But oh, none of the British fighters duck anyone...
Munn... I said before the Tszyu fight, that no one has ever been able to stop Hatton fighting Hatton's fight. (In 39 fights)
What makes you think a smaller than Tszyu - Mayweather is gonna be able to keep distance?
Umm...Kostya is a slow as molasses stalker, whereas Mayweather is the fastest fighter in the sport right now.

Mayweather is much more mobile than Tszyu, Tszyu has to be at a distance to be effective, Mayweather is a superior infighter to Tszyu.
Can you tell me what Floyd has done that would ever make you think he'd duck someone ?
Floyd Mayweather is one of the more ambitious fighters in the history of boxing.
Why is he so ambitious? Because he knows he can do what he wants to do in there.
The funny thing is that he's getting mad at the rest of us for not doing our homework for his favourite fighters
I agree... I don't hate Mayweather.. I think he's a spectacular boxer! I just think Hatton's pressure will be too much for him...
(I'm not keen on his antics outside the ring, but his performances inside the ring make up for it).
Interesting that the guys who've followed Hatton always mention that his opponents can't stand the relentless pressure. But pressure alone doesn't win fights, it's connecting gloves to flesh the does the damage. I think that Mayweather might offer Hatton a combination he's never seen before .... a guy who' very difficult to locate, connects a lot (with some power) and then is gone again.
Hatton's game plan depends entirely on rushing forward (throwing mind you) and closing that gap. There's no other version of Hatton that can be succcessful. Mayweather's plan will be to keep that space and win the fight.
If the gap closes, Hatton beats just about anybody right now. If the fight is mostly outside or even mid-range, Mayweather peppers Hatton like he's never seen before. Really. Then the best Hatton can hope for its that Mayweather tires, which might happen, and the gap begins to close.
sisforshaq.... If Mayweather doesn't duck the fight... (or use the HBO/Showtime excuse) and the fight takes place... I'd be quite happy to bet every point I have, (which will be about 50 million).

Hatton would certainly be more difficult than Gatti....then again, Floyd can render anyone useless in there.
all those wars gatti was in surely must have taken it's toll on gatti, hatton on the other hand is in the prime of his career, hatton will be a much tougher fight for mayweather.

Either way. If Hatton was knocked out in 2 or 3 rounds by Mayweather, you would immediately turn around and say Witter would beat him because of his nationality.

Gatti is a typical type of "Roy Jones Junior's" opponent for Mayweather... Someone brought in to make him look good.
How was Gatti "brought in"? Mayweather was his mandatory.

You got a little more than I do, but if that fight took place Id be happy to bet a good ammount of the points I have. Also I dont hate Hatton, I rooted for him againest Zoo and respect him as a fighter, I just see Floyds style being able to stop Hatton. The better defense, the better overall speed and handspeed and personally I could be on the minor in this but I think that Floyd can match up with Hattons power. So we'll see what it comes to and then we will talk from there. Should be a good fight either way.
I hope no one's using the Gatti vs Mayweather fight as example of how Hatton vs Mayweather is gonna turn out!
PLEASE!!!!
Hatton is a WHOLE different ball game to Arturo Gatti!
Hatton will pressure, pressure, pressure, Mayweather into submission, (that's my opinion, and I'd be happy to take bets on it!)

We'll see how well Mayweather does, if he's willing to accept the Hatton challenge, (Something I think he's gonna duck!)
If that fight took place, Id bet you on it. In my opinion Floyd would break Hatton down and finish him late.
.... i dont see how Hatton is even gonna want to come inside and try to bully him. Mayweather will likely lure Hatton into thinking he can do that and then stop him in his tracks, Mayweather is too smart for that shit.
Even if you've only seen Hatton fight once, doesn't matter. It's universally accepted that he will come forward, pretty much charging, in order to get the inside fight started.
Zoo stood pretty much flat footed and waited for Hatton to come to him. Zoo adjusted a bit and started to fade backward as Hatton came in, but he gave Ricky no lateral movement at all.
Mayweather would never be bullied into fighting the way Zoo did, which is what Ricky needs to win.
