i dont want to see any more topics about toney vs klitchko..toney is entirely too small for klitchko..this would be a much easier fight then danny williams or kirk johnson
I'm a Toney fan and i truly believe if Toney actually got in shape and as fight ready as possible he can be great but the hieght and weight of Vitali will be just too much for him.

K. Johnson is skilled but was wayyyy out of shape, and Danny's skills are no where close to that of Toney's. I truly beleive that Toney's skills will get him past V.K.
what the hell???? 1st of all James Toney is a bum!!!! He coulnt hurt John Ruiz!!! He had to go the distance against Booker?? Hes not fast he doesnt have agility he doesnt have power to hurt any heavyweight. Ive never seen him fight any good. Hes best fight was against Vasil Jirov and hes a journeyman at best (toney had to go the distance with him)
Tell me sumting that this guy has that makes him special???
Toney might be small but he could win a fight against klicko on points and he may even wear him down. Those big heavyweights tire after so many rounds and james is still ticking. Did you all see his fight against Jirov? Everyone thought that Toney got hit so many times but he didn't and at the end of the fight he was able to put Jirov down. The same thing would probably happen to Klichko.
The big difference of course is that Jirov is a small cruiserweight/heavyweight, while Vitali is massive. And Jirov hasn't been able to beat anybody decent at heavyweight, while Vitali has.
It's one thing to give Toney a chance (and I do think he could give Klitschko a tough fight), but to say he would probably put Klitschko down in the late round based on what he did against Jirov is going too far (in my opinion).
James Toney wouldnt get hit by Klichko that often. he slips and slides and rolls so that he doesnt get hit that often. (And we know what happens when Klicko fights an opponent who doesnt just stand in front of him) He turns into his alter ego Dr. Vitali Quitcko. Besides that he would be punching down and that would take some of the sting off of his punches.

roy jones knocked down toeny, as did reggie johnson. i don't think he has the best chin. vitai has never been knocked down, or has JLC, mayweather once because his hand touched the canvas. margarito hasn't been knocked down for a while eihter. so i think ur givin it a far stretch by saying he has the best chin today. i dont know how its possible for toney to outbox klitsckho, when he couldn't outbox montell griffin twice, or this gy Drake Thadzi, who was a no name shit at 28-8, yet he beat toney. this is probably the most excitiing heavyweight fight right now, but vitali would win, and most likely by KO
The KD's against Jones and Johnson were both balance issues and weren't true knockdowns caused by hard punches.
Vitali has been TKOed on cuts and has been visibly hurt or stunned by Lewis and Sanders...JLC has been legitimately knocked out by Corrales as well as being stopped on cuts many times over. Lets see Castillo go up to middleweight and eat middleweight punches because that's basically what Toney is doing right now fighting heavyweights.
James Toney has had superior competition to both of these guys and has substantially moved up in weight fighting bigger guys. He absolutely has the best chin in boxing. The only other guy I'd say is in his class is Wayne McCullough but McCullough is nowhere near the level of fighter James is.
I don't see Klitsckho knocking out Toney. If he wins it will be by UD. Toney has never been hurt in his life, his Chin is the best in the game today. I give Toney a good chance, but Klitsckho might be to tall for Toney. But I wouldn't be surprised if Toney outbox Klitsckho. :boxing: This is the only good fight in the heavyweights. If it happens!
Toney's never been hit by a 250lb, 6'8" heavyweight, nor has he fought anyone over 6'3".
Toney's damb tough, I'll give him that. That's why he'll probably take the beating of a lifetime against Vitali on his way to getting KO'ed.

Hitting James Toney isn't all that easy either. If all the stories about Vitali needing back, shoulder, etc. surgery are true, he could have some serious problems when he finds himself swinging and missing wildly against Toney.
I would favor Vitali , but it would be much more interesting than almost any other matchup for Vitali at heavyweight.
the only thing vitali would need to beat toney is his reach. vitali is 6'7.5", toney is 5'9". vitali is a good 10" taller than toney. toney's in-fighting and counterpunching is usually what gives him the win. but against vitali klitschko, he cant get past VK's reach and the ref wont let toney take punches all night.
vitali by mid to late round TKO.
I wouldnt put Toney Klitsckho as a blow out for Vitali. Toney is a much better fighter than Danny Williams and every heavyweight Vitali has fought over his career besides Lennox and MAYBE Byrd. Toney has one of the best defenses around ahd would give Vitali problems. It would be most likely a Vitali win but dont count Toney out
