I think Mickey had potential to be very good. When he used his jab against Gatti he would do well, but it just wasnt him. He can brawl with the best of them though, it just gives him a better chance to lose. Always weird seeing posts I made 4 years ago. I'd pick Hatton to win a slugfest.

I was thinking that could be a reason why he's lost 13 times but he hasnt even faced better opponents, you could say Gatti and Judah are elite and Hattons only faced one elite fighter but Tszyu's better than both of them. If you can't see the difference between a fighter that's defended the World title 16 times, never been beaten in his life amatuer or professional... And a journeyman that's never won a World title, and his most well known fights have been his losses to mediocre opposition then I give up with you. exactly... beating one fighter don't make you the greatest... ps. Hatton is a dirty ass fighter, and has limited skills. this is typical, youve seen one fight and think you know it all. i cant be bothered to talk to you because you arent interested in taking anything in. if you were you might learn something. ive seen hatton fight live 6 or 7 times and on tv treble that,. this is the only time ive seen him box that way. I agree. Hatton has a solid chin and his body attack is one of the best in the game right now. I just didn't bring it up in my previous post because I didn't want to slight Mickey Wards chin and body punching, in his prime they were excellent. Hatton would just be too much for him.

Hatton would beat any form of Mickey Ward. Ward would make the fight very exciting in his prime, but Hatton does just about everything better than Mickey. Ward's only advantages are his body attack and his chin. And even if you consider Ward to have a better chin and body attacks, Hattons well know for being very good at both himself. I have a lot of respect for Ward, its a shame this fight wont happen.

Ricky Hattons style was PERFECT to beat Tszyu...doesn't mean he can beat everyone... and you british nuthuggers need to quit suckin his balls... (except Elviel whos the coolest one that posted here) Thanks. I've watched Ward and Hatton before to consider how they would fair if they ever matched up and IMO Wards defence is total wrong for facing a fighter like Hatton. He keeps his elbows too high which leaves his body open and his static defence wouldnt be very effective for someone who switches from hooks to uppercuts very well. Ward has always been know cover up and then fire back when the opponents finished but someone with the work rate of Hatton doesnt finish because he's allows throwing punches. It would be a great fight because both men are warriors and they wouldnt need to go looking for each other.
