I think all the current top heavyweights should be pressuring Iron Mike into one last fight. Look what happens: Danny Williams KO Tyson> gets title shot against V.Klitscho Kevin Mcbride TKO Tyson> gets title shot against J.Ruiz

its weird how many people is now disrespecting Tyson. I mean, he was a great fighter back then. But everybody gets old, there is that one time that u just have to quit it. And thats what happened to one of my favorite fighters, Tyson.

It is weird to think that even Tyson's fans have to accept that Johnny would maim him now, but those in the know would have picked Ruiz over the Tyson who KO'ed Etienne in one round and had everyone so excited a few years back. Tyson has been damaged goods longer than I have been following boxing, and was never quite as good as he has been built up to be. Not even on his best day. I would pick both Holyfield and Lewis (when he was focused, on his very best night) to KO a prime Tyson. All of that speed and power is useless when it vaporizes after a few rounds of stiff resistance.

Poor old McBride has nothing but the uppercut, which won't win against Ruiz. For such a big guy, he showed no ability to use that as an advantage. Did you see those downward chopping "punches" of McB's? That was bush league stuff. He's nowhere near ready for a top-tier match-up, even it's Ruiz. Probably a KO for Ruiz, or, if he wanted to he could make it typical decision.

This sounds like all the advantages the golota had over Ruiz. Golota was much quicker and better than mcbride. Ruiz would kill this guy Well put. Golota had size, strength, power and better technical skill than Ruiz but he still couldn't beat the guy. What can Kevin hope to do? McBride is about to become victim to a rare boxing occurrence- a Ruiz knockout!

I think McBride can beat Ruiz for a couple reasons. He is stronger Ruiz. He has a good uppercut. He is a good inside fighter. He can outfight Ruiz on the inside. If Ruiz tries to fight McBride from the outside which Ruiz sucks at doing he is going to have trouble with McBride's height advantage. I think McBride can beat Ruiz relatively easily because of these factors. If Ruiz comes in to grapple, he eats uppercuts. If he stays outside he will eat jabs, and McBride has a better chin than Ruiz. People point to McBride's early losses to discredit him but that was all before he was trained by Petrenelli. IMHO, if McBride is given is chance to fight for a belt by beating a guy who is nowhere near the top ten (or even twenty), then I could see why they wouldn't let Tua fight for a belt in a rematch. But of course, they are probably...heck, actually they are...letting him (McBride) take on Ruiz not base on his cred, but his name (similar to Williams against Vitali). Although I give Williams a much more deserving credits more than McBride as he actually earn some in the Euro scene. Let's all face the fact that McBride is a low class fighter and does not deserve a title shot. No matter who Ruiz fight, he can, could, and will make that fight a candidate for the most boring fight of the year. Just imagine this fight? No he cant beat john ruiz because norman"stoney"stone is in ruizs corner he doesnt not get ready for fights like tyson. It wouldnt be an early ko but maybe a k0 8 or beyond. Mcbride should put his toys r us belt on the line.

I reckon it depends on what weight McBride comes in at. Seriously though, McBride will get beat the first time he steps up to a top 30 contender - I'm willing to bet 10 million points on it if you're interested McKay. I will take 10 mil on McBride vs your 10 mil on Ruiz.

I know Ruiz is not the best heavyweight ever, but he can beat big slow heavyweights. He just has a problem with the quicker ones that he cant grab.

Well, Ruiz must still be feeling like crap losing again to a former middleweight. His title may have been given back to him but his self esteem and ego have been shot down.... If this fight happens, Mcbride might be able to take advantage of that. Mcbride is feeling like a winner right now and everybody in the boxing world still considers him a bum. ruiz has been stopped once, mcbride has all 4 of his losses come by knockout to other journeymen and u say he has a better chin than ruiz? Golota didn't even land a very hard shot on Ruiz and he went down with a thud. He didn't stay down, but he went down hard. Tyson hit McBride with much harder shots than Ruiz has ever been hit with, with exception of vs. Tua. The only difference is Tyson never caught Kevin flush on the chin. I also highly doubt Ruiz is even close to being as strong as Kevin. Im 'm not trying to say that McBride is good or anything, because he's been fighting for awhile and he's probably as good as he's going to get, on top of his terrible conditioning. Everyone forgets that Mcbride didn't knock Tyson out with a punch, but with the undefeatable weight of his irish belly.

And Ruiz lost to had a draw with and once beat a shell of Evander Holyfield. McBride is way stronger than Ruiz. McBride has a good uppercut that will give Ruiz serious problems on the inside especially when you consider McBride is stronger. there is no evidence that mcbride is stronger than ruiz, ruiz was able to grapple well with holyfield who is very strong, i think mcbride might actually make ruiz look good if they fought. mcbride has been a pro for years and was ranked at about 150 before the tyson fight, he's not even as talented as danny williams who was a least a top european level fighter before his tyson fight.
