Hey fellas, this is the site I work for. Whenever you get a chance check out some of my articles and tell me what you think. Check out my current pound for pound list: http://blacksportsonline.net/
Thanks!
Since you all want my opinion on the P4P topic...
I say the #1 spot could be given to Mayweather, Tszyu, Wright, or Barrera, easily. And this isn't like back in 2003, where the debate was hot because no one was doing shit.... these people have actually earned the right to be called the best in the world.
Also, you could put Antonio Margarito in Glen Johnson's spot easily, and Corrales & Castillo are interchangeable. Pacquiao needs to come back with something impressive or risk being known as a flash-in-the-pan, like Mayorga was.
The only think keeping Rafael Marquez out of the top five is the lack of competition at 118 lbs. He could move to 122 & wreck shit, or down to 115 & be unstoppable, and he'd secure a top five (if not top-three) spot.
Boxing is hot shit right now, GP is, IMO, the best up-and-coming boxing writer out there.
Johnson lost to Tarver, and he's gonna lose again soon. Maybe then people will shut the hell up about the Road Warrior. It was seriously one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. How can ANYONE give Johnson the win on that? I was hoping for him to win, by the way, so I'm not just hating on him.
I'm guessing you're under the age of 18. Anyhow, you don't speak for anyone but yourself. I'm sure the people who post on this board don't want you representing them in any fashion.
And Tito beating Mayorga was ten times more impressive than De La Hoya QUITTING against Hopkins after getting hit with a grazing body shot. Give me a break.
everything you said there is a guess......just like your pound for pound list.

The thing with pound for pound lists nowadays is that some people base it on skills and some people base it on accomplishments.
With that said, some of you people based it on neither.
Your list is ok. Pac should have been somewhere there though
Yea, I wish I could have found room for the Pacman. All he needs is one major victory to get back in the top 10. He hasn't actually won a fight in a little while now.

I agree. If anyone says that Tito aint a "hot" fighta, then they know little bout boxing. Tito blew away a dangerous fighta and peeps gave respect to that. REASON why Tito was FAVORITE when he fought Wright.
How could winky have defeated a "hot" fighter....when Tito's first victory after a long layoff was a blown up 1 dimmensional welterweight.
you are looking more, and more retarded man.
Just say you think he is one of the best.....dont give a b.s. reasoning behind his credibility....when:
De La Hoya should be ranked way higher than trinidad as far as your "hot" ratings go. That is insulting to people here.

no insults man. Your list is retarded. you can take that as an insult......I just take that as you not knowing much about boxing.
This coming from a person that's posting on a boxing board with porn in his avatar. Yea, I'm really insulted...
Corrales didn't cheat anything.
If anything, he benifited from the referee making a poor decesion in not forcing Chico to continue again without the mouth piece.
Corrales beat both ten counts, and in no way forced the ref to take the extra time. That was the ref's decesion, and you suggesting Corrales 'cheated' implies you think he knew the ref was going to allow that extra time.
That's non sense.
Corrales' point was Valid. The 2nd time he made the consious decesion to take it out, but it fell out of his hand. He said that if had he tried to pick up the slippery mouth piece, he may have been counted out, or given the ref the impression he was to hurt to pick it up.
The incredible display he put up after the knock downs had nothing to do with cheating, and was remarkable.
Either way, Corrales' last 3 wins are agaisnt Cassamayor, Frietas, and Castillo.
Only an idiot would leave him off a pound of pound list.
Amen to that.
But if wasn't for the mouth piece stunt he would have lost. He cheated his way to victory! Thus I don't think he deserves the P4P top 10 ranking. A Belt? Sure.. he's got that..
In other words you can cheat your way to a "W" and to a Title, but P4P there are no rules, referees, Points, or Judges here.. so I say No room for cheaters on the P4P.
Sorry guys, but this is my own reasoning
I can appreciate your reasoning but explain to me this. How do you justify not placing Diego on your list if you have Bernard Hopkins as number one? Hopkins is well known for being dirty on the inside by hitting low, behind the head, in the kidneys, on the thigh, on the ass, etc... Are these not offenses that are punishable in the same way as spitting out a mouth guard. As a matter of fact, since the effect it has on the other fighter and long term damage some of them could carry, are they not even worse?

haha...agreed.
Seriously diary...by that logic, Glen Johnson has lost A LOT to B level comp and shouldn't be worthy of a top 10 spot. I know a lot of his losses were controversial and should have gone the other way, but that Tarver fight was controversial too. I wouldn't consider a shot RJJ, Woods, and Harmon grade A competition either.
Corrales has now beaten Quinonez, Garcia, Gainer, Manfredy, Casamayor, Freitas, and JLC. He has only lost to two elite fighters...I think he should be in the top ten whether you look at his whole career or his "what have you done for me lately" record.

hahaha, if that is the case then you should take Glen Johnson off because he actually lost to Antonio Tarver. Funny, I thought that Corrales won by punching Castillo in the face with about eight unanswered power shots, but I guess that is against the rules.
Well this is why Johnson is #10
And as Ghetto Passport said: "Glen Johnson has defeated Eric Harding, Clinton Woods, Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver all in a row."
Corrales won a controversial fight by cheating the 10 count! End of story, lets not turn this into a whole new discussion and if you prefer to do so, lets debate this under a new thread.

LOL! Insults are for kids. Anyway, Zab's resume is filled with B and C class fighters. The one A class fighter he fought knocked him out in less than 2 full rounds.
Weis, Ward, Witter, Bergman are decent, but not much to brag about.
Judah will be top 10 pound for pound when and if he fights and defeats either Mosley or Margarito.

There is a number of variations in peoples perception of the P4P list.
P4P Perception A) An over all fighter's achievement (including recent wins, past losses etc) How dominant he is in his weight class, did he move up in class, etc.
P4P Perception B) Based on recent wins, dominations and titles.
I go with Perception A. I look at what the boxer has achieved in his carrier, who and how long ago he lost (if any losses) etc.
You're right, Corrales should be on the top 10 P4P list, but the reason I don't have Corrales on my P4P list, is because he did not win legitimately. Those stunts he pulled should not put him on the list.
If there was a top 10 list of Boxers who won titles by cheating, he would be ranked as #1, DLH #2
So for now, I took both Castillo and Corrales off the list. I cannot have Castillo on the list due to his recent loss to Corrales. And Corrales I explained above. Those those spots are filled with Pacquiao and Calzaghe (can't have blanks LOL)

Are you seriously not putting Corrales on that list after the last three guys that he has beaten? Castillo, Frietas, Casamayor. I let that speak for itself man. There is a number of variations in peoples perception of the P4P list.
