I thought it was a close fight that should've been a draw (I had it even) but I would think the nod should go in favor of Brown (there was a questionable round or two and I gave them to Bell because he was the champ) if there was to be a winner.
I too was very surprised by the judges decision on this fight. IMO Brown had alot of opportunities to knock out Bell but was not aggressive enough. Marver Hagler once said after losing a controversial decision that he would knock his opponents out rather letting the fight be "in the judges'hands." Brown had his opportunities and should have not let the fight go into judges hands.
Is it possible to appeal and get a reversal on a UD. How can they allow such stupid judges to score fights. After a decision like that the judges should be interviewed on TV and asked WTF they were thinking.
bell was in poor condtion>? he looked alright to me, brown was the fat one and he won
Physical "looks" and being in fighting shape are 2 totally different things....
do you think Riddick Bowe was in "good shape" for the Golota rematch? Hell no, he was over-trained and had no legs whatsoever, which is what most likely happened with Bell, a poor training regimen will shoot your legs to $hit after a few rounds, and his legs were gone from about rd 8 or 9 on
Brown has no pop yet he had Bell on queer street numerous times during the fight.
I REPEAT, Bell got tired moreso from poor conditioning than from Brown's power shots, Bell has bird-legs and wilts in the final rounds of many fights, but an early lead is all you need!
Landing clean punches. Bell's sloppy body work does nothing for me.
okay, landing clean punches is what counts....
so Gianluca Branco easily beat Arturo Gatti, right? He landed twice as many punches, but whose punches counted? Gatti's! Because they did big damage, and Gianluca threw slaps all night....same thing happened last night, Brown has no pop behind the shots, Bell got tired moreso from poor conditioning than Brown's punches

I feel ya, but it did something for the JUDGES, and they are what counts, our opinions + 99 cents will getcha coffee at McDonald's, the opinions of the judges will turn bums into millionaires.....
I know that Bell looked lousy but Brown is slow, weak, lazy, and doesn't have any flash behind the funk, so he'll never win rounds vs. an athlete like Bell
haha.
This is coming from the guy who said Bernard Hopkins ran from Morrad Hakkar in their fight, when the judge warned Hakkar he would take a point off for not fighting.
You know absolutely nothing about boxing sactown. Face it.
I said Bernard ran from Hakkar? uhhhh it was the other way around, and it was horrific to watch, and Frank Cappucino couldn't stop laughing, and neither could I......could you please find my quote saying that Hopkins ran??? Because it doesn't exist.
And if I don't know anything about boxing, why was my scorecard the same as one of the 3 judges? 115-113 was the perfect score, you should hit MUTE on the remote and watch, rather than listen to the announcers....
so I'm guessing you thought Oscar beat Mosley in the rematch? Because Jim Lampley sure thought so!
I couldn't disagree more, you must be more of a Joe tessitore fan than an actual fight fan, becuase the biased announcing had a lot to do with most of the opinions on today's posts.....
Brown won rounds 3, 10, 11, and 12, but what else did he do? NADA. He was gasping for air from round 2 on, and got cut in round 4, and those supposed "power shots" were quick slaps....YES I KNOW, Bell's legs were shot after about 9 rounds, but he already had built up a big lead by that point
haha.

I must say....that fight was a complete robbery. Bell barely did enough to win 4 rounds tops....and must have impressed the judges with his movement. All I know is, Brown landed all the power shots, was the effective aggressor, and all.
I agree: Those kinds of robberies are bad for boxing. Bell I suppose is made to be a household name.

As much as I dislike Atlas, this is one fight I wish he attended just to see how crazy he would have gone after Bell got the UD.
thank god teddy wasnt there he'd probally KO all 3 judges and bell then steal the title and give it to brown, odd how when the one time teddy theres a robbery, good thing it saved lives by him not being there

it was much closer than that, anyway bell still should have won. I didn't give him a 10-8 round 3 because bell was fighting back
I don't know how you saw that. I had it clearly 7 to 5 agaist Bell, and was being "puncher-friendly". I could've scored it 8-4 against bell otherwise.
