The Mayweather-Gatti Scenario

ok this is NOT a thread about who will win or lose. (or draw) i want to know what peeps will think of the fighters when they win/lose for example what would you think of them both if floyd koed gatti late and vice versa. if gatti beat mayweather not only would he prove to be one of the most exciting fighters in boxing history but he would also prove he has what it takes to beat a superior athlete & boxer. mayweather could recover from this loss but it would tarnish his hugely impressive record. hes fought & beaten better opposition than gatti so should cruise it if he doesnt get silly but i think deep down he must know gatti still poses a threat to his unbeaten record. if mayweather were to win he would of done what most peeps expected. but how he goes about that win will determine whether he gains some new fans or loses some of his current fans. if he comes in with the same idea as he did in the 2nd castillo fight (no power punching) than it could turn fans off. but if he mixes up a boxing masterclass with some brutal power punching then he really could get the fans on his side. gatti has lost quite a few times in his career & doesnt fair well against good boxers ie ivan robinson, oscar delahoya & angel manfredy so a loss to mayweather wouldnt really be that bad as long as it isnt a total massacre. i think he may retire win lose or draw so your opinions please

wow a UD against tszyu ! come on. tszyu is no one dimentional castillo. and tszyu hits harder then castillo. mayweather has the most natural ability then any boxer in recent times. but when he and if he fights zoo, if its well before zoo retires, i think he will get a boxing lesson which will be for the benefit of pbf. then maybe he will take the art of boxing seriously and maybe even become the greatest. but at this time the short (67"reach) schools him. tszyu makes adjustments on the spur. when he gets knocked down he comes up inspired. and he don't get rattled and doesnt loose his head. will be too much for prettyboybutthead. tszyu is very beatable especially by floyd. floyd has the skill, power and speed to punish tszyu and the chin and stamina to take his best and still have enough left to go 12rds. so what if tszyu adapts. he will still lose way too many rds. and i cant see him getting a ko even though it is possible. and before the comparisons are made Judah is not half as good as floyd, and im a judah fan and mayweather hater. :cool:

I no Floyd talks like he does not even need to train to beat Gatti but he is not stupid he knows this is the road to bigger and better things. Floyd will be focused come fight time and in shape as always. As for Zoo i think Floyds Defenese, and fast accurate punching will get him a UD.

This fight does nothing for Floyd's rep. Everything about this fight screams victory for him. Gatti is too slow, too robotic, too predictable to get anywhere near beating Floyd. He cuts & swells too much. I will streak down the main road of my suburb at midday, and provide photos if Gatti wins! His only hope is Floyd's cockiness, or if he beats the living SH*% out of Floyds arms for 11 rounds until Floyd cant keep them up, and Gatti lands a Hail Mary. After this fight, I will still think Floyd is top 5, a huge talent, but would be beaten by the Tszyu of 2001-05; and that Gatti is a solid but over-rated fighter who hasn't beaten a TOP fighter in years.

Gatti is going to get hurt in a bad way. I heard someone say he need to get on a bike to win, Fu** that. First of Floyds defense is the best in boxing period and few fighters have landed flush shots on him. When they have he was ok after a minute to refocus. Secondly Gatti is to slow and cuts to easily. When you have a slow fighter who cuts easily and an ultra fast accurate puncher hitting you at will the fight wont last long. Gatti takes a great punch but it will be stoped in 7 rounds or less for cuts. ;)

I wouldn't compare Gatti vs PBF to Trinidad vs Wright exactly. Gatti has always been better on his feet than Trinidad. He can move around and box, when he wants to. I think Trinidad is actually a more simplistic boxer than gatti, in terms of movement in the ring. But, even so, PBF will probably school him almost every round. I'm just not sure that you can say Gatti vs PBF will one sided based on Trinidad vs Wright, because the matchups are different.

I was actually excited about PBF Gatti, almost to the point of going to AC to watch it. After watching last nights fight and the PBF Corrales fight, I would not be surprised at all if PBF wins every minute of every round like Winky did last night. I may not even buy it on PPV. I am also going with Hopkins against Taylor now. Last night made me switch two future fights.

mayweather should fight tsyzu...then move to 147 challenge judah then retire before hes 30!!!!!!!!! haha he would have nothing else to prove if he becmae a champ at 147 I'm confused here, who is ducking who here (between tsyzu and PBF)? or has the fight just not happened because of being tied up, or because one is an HBO fighter and the other is SHO?

Gatti has no chance to win this fight, He is a overated stiff thats never beaten a top fighter and loses to fighters like Angel Manfredy, Mickey Ward, Ivan Robinson 2 times, hes never beaten any good fighter, Rafael Ruelas is the best fighter hes beaten, Gatti has no real power, hes only K.Od stiffs, Mayweather will beat Gatti in the face The only top fighter Gatti has faced was OscarDLHoya and Oscar looked like Gattis dad
