The heavyweight division stinks right now but with boxers like Clavin Brock (25-0, 20 KOs) and Samual Peter (23-0, 20 KOs), the future of the heavyweight division might be on an up swing! There is some good prospects out there, like Audley Harrison (17-0, 12 KOs) who is now back, and Joe Mesi could come back. When these people move up the ranks the heavyweight division might be worth watching again, maybe even great to watch. Then we can forget Brewster, Byrd, Ruiz, and Toney, by the way, speaking of Toney, when you have a 38 year old fat middleweight step in and easily win a heavyweight title, something is wrong. I hope the division makes a come back, only time will tell. A good website to check out the heavyweight division is

Yeah there is no doubt that the future is with Brock and Peter. Maybe someone else will also step up soon. It would be nice to see Tarver move to heavyweight.
the tall freak looking heavyweights are slowing down boxing literally. Valuev is big, but boring. We need Corrie Sanders back, hes an awesome fighter and heaps agressive, put an awesome fight against klitshcko.
Sam Peters has alot of pressure on him now, but he will deliver the goods. Need more big time heavyweights from around world, not just US. Kali Meehan put spotlight on boxing in pacific region( Aust, NZ, png, samoa, fiji, tonga...) last year with his fite with brewster and rahman.
With Brock and Peter, Boxing fans can finally have some prospects to rally behind for the first time since Mike Grant a couple of years ago and Ike Ibeabuchi before he went nuts. They may not have what it takes in the long run but at least they are generating some interest in what is truly a stagnant division at the moment. Audley Harrison has two problems in my mind.1. His late start in the game. If he was 27 instead of 36/37 or whatever he is now, this kid would be getting much more press. 2. Extremely careful matchmaking. I understand not wanting to rush a guy but Harrison has not really stepped up his level of competition at all. I understand he is fighting Billy Zumbrun in the near future. This should be a nice intro to american audiences and if he wins he should start moving up to guys the level of Derek Jefferson and maybe even Jameel Mccline. Time is of the essence for Audley. As for Joe Mesi. Forget about it. The NSAC wont let him back in so he cant fight anymore in America. and he could die stepping in the ring overseas
tyson might could, if he hurries up while the division still sucks. He better get there before Calvin Brock or Sam Peter! Them two will rule the division in a couple of years!
one year
If they change for the better in a year that would be great. I think it should start with a Toney vs Byrd match-up. It would begin a unification process.
