What's next for you? You're moving down to welterweight so when do you expect that to occur?
"Well it's no secret now that I am going to go down to 147 and looking forward to gaining that respect once again from the public and being a world champion. One of my aspirations has always been to be undisputed champion. We all know that Zab Judah, who is a great fighter, has all those titles and he'll be a tremendous opportunity for me."
When do you see that fight happening? Possibly in September?
"Well we all know that September is my favorite month of the year to fight because of the Mexican Independence holidays. September 16th is a big day for me and we're looking at September 17th. We've put that on hold now. And we'll see what comes up. Am I taking a big step in considering Zab Judah? Or should I take a tune up at 147? I have to think about it more, consider it and then we'll make a move."
We saw Roy Jones' move down from heavyweight changed him. Are you concerned that moving down thirteen pounds from middleweight to welterweight could hurt you?
"I'm not really concerned about. Obviously going up to heavyweight the way Roy Jones did is by far a difficult task in gaining all that weight and gaining that heavyweight title. It's by far even tougher for a middleweight guy to go up to heavyweight than a welterweight fighter going up to middleweight then coming back down. It's just difficult. It's difficult to do it as a heavyweight than what it is a welterweight. So I don't think it's going to be a problem. I think it's just going to be a matter of me feeling comfortable and making sure that I can go twelve rounds at that weight class."
Do you have interest in fighting any of the other guys at 147 like Antonio Margarito or Shane Mosley again?
"I'll never fight Margarito. I'll never fight Shane Mosley. That's no secret."
You'll never fight them?
"No. I'm at the tail-end of my career. Obviously I have two more fights after me which I want. It's a matter of picking my opponent and making sure I pick the right opponent in trying to make history. You know, who ever has those titles at that moment if it's a Zab Judah or it's a Felix Trinidad, who I'm trying to make a rematch with at 154 or 155. Then those are the fights that I really want. Other than that I'm not thinking about no (Floyd) Mayweather. I'm not thinking about no Margarito. I'm not thinking about no Shane Mosley. It's not going to happen. It's just not going to happen. I'm not going to fight no Margarito. I'm not going to fight no Shane Mosley. I'm not going to fight no Mayweather. So if anybody is telling them that I am going to fight them it's not going to happen."
i think oscar at 147 will still have enough speed and power to beat zab .i think the margarito fight will be tougher because of the stamina i don't think oscar can go 12 rounds with a guy like margarito he is tireless but if he can i think he can win a decision oscar is a better boxer and has the speed . and tito beats him by ko of this i am sure .
Marguarito had trouble landing on Cintron who wasn't a moving target. He'll get more tired missing with his shots than Oscar will be using the ring.

DLH handed Mosley a one sided beating the second time around, no questions asked.
DLH has slowed down a lot and whether he would like to admit it or not when he steps in there with Zab at 147, Zab will tag his ass and hurt him badly....Since DLH has slowed down A LOT, I believe Zab has the speed and power to really pull an upset over DLH....Zab is a lot quicker on his feet now.
A prime DLH would wipe the floor with Zab but DLH stands no chance...He had his time.
I'm with Spinks on this one. I think we have an old DLH and not the DLH of old, as most people think. Just as Shane said he would be a MONSTER at 147 and showed a lackluster performance against a journeyman in Estrada, I think DLH would do the same. He doesn't want to fight Margarito for the same reason he turned Ouma down: volume punchers would kill DLH right now. Margarito has the stamina and power to KO an old DLH. I don't think Zab would KO him, but he'll hurt him a few times and then have to retreat due to DLH's power.
I've been saying this for a long time but people don't listen. Oscar will be the betting favorite and I have 1 grand of real money to place on Judah. If Zab gets by Rivera (and he will) then he'll get DLH in Sept without a doubt! Zab WILL NOT turn that money down. After he beats DLH I'm sure he'll agree to fight Margarito and then Margarito will be the new Undisputed Champ. I don't think anyone at 147 can beat him.
Any chance DLH tries to give back to the fans for his Barrera-Fana travesty by pairing himself and Judah on the same PPV card as a Hopkins-Tarver or Hopkins-G.Johnson? There's no way he'd do it for Hopkins-Trinidad II, since that would sell itself, but Hopkins-Tarver or G.Johnson would struggle on its own, with DLH-Judah as the co-feature, the card could soar!
Wishful thinking, but hey, DLH does owe us for Viva Mexico!
I feel DLH won the fight. However just because someone may feel DLH lost the fight, does not mean i think they are engaging a sheep mentality, thats my point. Boxing is an opinionated sport, its decided and scored by opinion, this isnt baseball/basketball/football where what happens is concrete, boxing is in the hands of 3 men and women, their opinions may differ from others, and can differ from the fans. Thus, its not a "sheep" mentality to have a differing opinion from the judges, as well as yourself. Opinions decide who wins, thus differing opinions are always going to be there when a fighter whens a UD on a close fight, or a SD.
i know its tough for you to grasp what im saying, but just try.
It's a sheep opinion to assume your premise is correct because "most" people see it that way. That's the way you presented your argument; as if that was logical.
You know, going along with the flock, get it?
Or should I say, baaaaaa-aaaa?
I know that. It's called humor. I am trying not to be an asshole and that's pretty funny because I'm not one. Maybe it's a bit biting but I don't think the poster I responded to would take exception to it.
I completely understand that people see fights differently and accept that.
I editted my post prior to this but you responded before I finished editting it.
Perhaps you can see it from my perspective, especially since I wasn't even talking to or of you.
At any rate, I'm done explaining yet another misunderstnanding on this forum.
Later.
Ho-lee shit! Dude, was it your opinion/character or are you the fuckin defender of this goddamn forum? I don't think it was because the first time I ever noticed your punkass was your bullshit response to my post.
I didn't insult anyone unless they have a sandy vag or are a little bitch! Which are you?
That's an insult, motherfucker. Not the first post. Fuck off.

What your stating is an opinion, its not more credible than the next mans opinion that DLH won the fight, it makes you a jackass calling someone a sheep because essentially your trying to undermine someones opinion by saying "Oh well, even though your saying you saw the fight, because you saw the fight different than i did, and your opinion is different than mine, your a sheep because i think he lost the fight".
Your insulting someones character based on something that is debatable, there is no hard evidence that says that DLH outright lost other than opinionated anaylsys.

I didn't insult anyone *edit*
Bro, I think you're just pushin my buttons here. I ain't got time for it. I'm bettin you've observed my interactions with someone else I had a beef with here and didn't care for it or something. Irregardless, the forums on boxing or MMA or whatever ain't the place for you to try to start shit.
I can handle my own arguments but I try to keep that shit in the OT forums. Like I said, "If you want to talk to me about boxing, let's do that" but don't try to hide some other agenda inside faux logic.
If you want to talk shit, just let me know. That's not a problem. I just think everyone else who's here to talk boxing might be distracted by bullshit.
I used the term, sheep, to suggest that the whole idea of what "most" people think is not only irrelevant but probably inaccurate. How the fuck can you say "most" people thought that? You'll agree that you have no idea what "most" people thought and that "most" people don't know shit about boxing.
That's my opinion ... MINE ... and that doesn't make me a jackass. Respect my opinion as I respect yours. We don't have to agree on anything but if you want any decent dialogue, then use it.
When I talk boxing I can't take you serious if you act like a tard. I can only treat you as one. It's your choice but I'll be talking boxing with the guys who want to do that.

stop being a jackass and accept the fact that the majority of the people on planet earth think Mosley lost the fight, boxing is a opinionated and judgemental sport, any fight is subject to different views, which is why they have judges, if anything, i could call you a sheep by saying
"Oh, because the authorities (judges) said its true, that means its true? youll just believe anything those governing bodies of paid of judges say and think !~"

lol Oscar fighting Tito at 155 does not equal power for Oscar...Oscar weighed in around the same (155) for Hopkins...I think the weight gain over his career has just taken his power away...same with Mosley...they can both go back down to 147, but they will NOT be exactly the same as they once were
Sheep. I swear,

good post karma to you, I agree, Would you guys conisder DLH pound for pound again if he wins the next two fights one being zab?
Yeah, if he drops and wins all the belts. Yeah, he'd be back in the p4p mix.
i dunno how fast he can be at welterweiht he hasnt fought there in years. But If he captures some of his speed back at welterweight Zab would have to fight a Whitaker style of fight (moving all over the place none stop) I know Zab wont be able to hurt him cause oscar has taken blows from way harder punchers than Zab Judah and Oscar hits harder than anyone that Zab as faced. But who knows Oscar migh get the Roy Jones bug as he loses all that weight
Nah, it ain't enough weight to fuck him like Roy was. If he makes it ot welter and fights and loses ... no excuses.
I don't think he will lose though.
I have the most respect for DLH.. he has accomplished more than any other boxer out there!
By the age of 32, he is being ranked #32 Richest Celebrity on the planet. Where Mike Tyson is Ass Broke!
He is smart, his events are always PPV and sold out.. not only he is a great Fighter, he is an excellent entertainer!
Awesome Chin! Great Stamina (other than that Sturm fight) Fast hands and yet very powerful!
I consider DLH, RJJ, and Hopkins the best fighters of our era!
My Props!
But in my opinion, he is right.. it's time to hang those gloves.. The boy has lost that boxer's hunger w/o which he can not be his old self!
He is flat out refusing a fight with Margarito. Funny how things change for him, when he "won" the WBO title from Sturm it was his 6th title according to him and he made a big fuss about what an accomplishment it was. Now he says he wants to be the Undisputed champ, yet now the WBO title and its holder which can make a legitimate claim to being the man at 147 doesnt interest him at all.
Frankly after his oscar winning performance against Hopkins this doesnt really surprise me.
Zab is the toughest fight he can take right now. Southpaw with speed and power? Pfffffff. It's a bad pick but I guess he wants to add to his legacy. No sense in fighting Mosley cuz even if he wins it won't erase his 2 losses. Marguarito is coming out of his shell but it's still not a mega fight. He'd outbox Marguarito to a one sided decision.
