Not Looking Good for James Toney Fans.

i think that if Ruiz can work his gameplan it will be a typical ruiz fight, but if James gets his gameplan working then i see a lopsided decision or a ko for him.

Toney can take all the shit he wants he backs it up. And Ruiz is to slow and is an easy target for Toney. As for Chin i doubt Ruiz can hurt Toney whos chin is one of the best ever period.

I didn't have the Jirov fight close to a draw. I thought it was a clear, decisive win for Toney. I had it 6-4-1 going into the 12th and then Toney dominated the 12th and KD'ed Jirov.

THe fight with Jirov was actually pretty close to a draw. Without the KD then it's a draw, and I think Lederman had it a draw even with the KD. Very close fight. Jirov spent too much energy punching Toney's gloves, shoulders and arms- which is what Brooks was yelling for him to do- turns out it was bad advice. It won him some close rounds, by throwing alot of punches, being agressive and active, but it burnt him out for the championship rounds. So, no it wasn't a KO. Hehe. It was barely a win. I don't really count the fight with Holy, bc that Holy didn't throw anything after round 1. He was just done. It was barely a fight- Larry Donald beat him the same way. So yeah, I have my questions about Toney as a HW, and I think I'd favor Ruiz slightly. If he can make it a war. Ruiz is physically stronger than Toney and is usually successful at making it his type of fight. I just hope it's a good fight.

I think he will because he knows the severity of the situation. Being out of shape against Drake Thadzi is much different then being out of shape when you have a shot at a HW title. Exactly. Don't be a troll Super_Lightweight. Toney has rededicated himself since his long layoff, and as Oldgringo mentions, this fight is fot the Heavyweight title. He's not going to come in out of shape. Even in that photo everyone keeps talking about, he's very solid for Toney, It's just a bad pic. Toney will be in the shape he feels will be most effective for him for this fight. I'm guessing it will be around 227, which isn't a bad thing.

The only "dead man" will be a bewildered & battered Ruiz when the referee is forced to pull Toney off of him in the 10th or 11th round.

I agree with Bozo. Roach has his opinion but by no means is he the authority on James. If JT comes in around 225-230 he should be alright and at a acceptable fighting weight. And yes I'm a huge Toney fan...
