This would have been my fourth consecutive Gatti fight I would have gone to. I called Ticketmaster exactly at 11 AM and they were all sold out of the $100 tickets already, only the $500 ones were left. I nearly felt to urge to gets those but I really didnt have the money. I really cant believe they all sold out in 30 hrs thats crazy. As of right now I'll end up watching the fight on PPV. But on the brighter side maybe I'll go catch John Duddy or Paul Malignaggi fight this summer.
And there was a couple more things Id like to address about Gatti's upcoming fight on this thread instead of starting a new one.
The first being I know there are people on this board who are not a fan of Thunder, which I respect everybody has their opinion. But these haters are really diggin deep on BS to attack Gatti's talent. The first being was something along the lines of "Well is no good b/c and Mayweather will destroy him b/c he only fights 2 times a year" In response you guys are easy to point the finger at Gatti but you should also look in PBF cornor as well, PBF has only fought twice in the past year and a half and those opponets havent been to great either. ANd being they way Gatti fights its a mircale is fighting at all.
Which brings me to my next gripe is still the oppostion, people are still complaining about Gatti's opponets and so on. But dig this; the combined record of Gatti's last 10 opponets are 243 wins and 47 losses. While PBF last 10 opponets are 177-111-8.
You can interpertet that anyway you chose. To me im not factoring opponets wins and loses. I think the differance in the fight will be the weight, Floyd will feel those punches big time. Gatti will be victorious!
You contradict yourself by saying you would never watch a Mayweather fight but at the same time going to see Gatti vs Mayweather...Your stance surely shouldnt be on who fights because you stated you would never watch him. :)
It is common boxing knowledge that Mayweather has everything of Gatti except size...You people need to deal with that in any aspect Mayweather succeeds Gatti in every way imaginable (except size of course)
I dont think im contradicting myself, the only reason Im watching PBF is b/c he is fighting Gatti. Ask the people goin to Boardwalk Hall who they are there to watch, and the answer is "Gatti." I'd watch Gatti fight anybody, he is that entertaining.
But I was wrong i did see PBF fight Brussels and that was awful.
And one more thing spinx you forgot a couple things that Gatti has on his side over PBF, size is one ur right, but he as the power, heart, and Micky Ward in his cornor.
Gatti will be victorious come June 25
Do what you wont I could care less, I dont like floyd, I think the guy is a straight up asshole. I dont care how much skill he has, I still dont like the man, which means I would never watch him fight. Ask the 12,000 people goin to the Boardwalk Hall June 25 if they would watch PBF fight, IF he wasnt fighting Gatti, a good amount probably wouldnt. Those people came for Gatti.
There was 200 people lining up to get tickets 12 hours before the fight took place, this will probably never happen w/ PBF. Masterdirecter you act its wrong for me for Gatti to me my favorite boxer, I got news for you Im not the only one.

You NEWBIES need to settle the fuck down with some of this outrageous shit you are doing on the board.
Nobody will ever be as bad as Tito nuthuggers though.. They are just flat out delussional.. After Gatti gets embaressed I think that Gatti fans will be men enough to admit that Floyd was simply a better fighter. After BHop disgraced Hopkins infront of 15,000 slimy Puerto Ricans in MSG his nuthuggers had every excuse from "September 11th through Tito off his training", or "Titos hand weren't wrapped properly" or "IWatchBoxing had sex with Tito the night before and Tito's legs were weak"!! Gatti-Mayweather shouldnt even be sanctioned it is such a mismatch.. I see similiar outcome to the RJJ vs. Toney fight except even by a wider margin..
It's nice to know that racism is tolerated on the forum ...
It is wrong for you to like Gatti over Mayweather. Floyd has the skill, the straightness, everything. Gatti's just a bitch and a disgrace. He'll get exposed soon enough. Though he's already been. Hell, Ward proved Gatti sucks when Ward was competitive against him, fucking really knocked him out in that first fight. It should've been stopped in the 9th. Any other ref would've stopped it.
Germans thought it was right to kill jews during WWII. Tons of people CAN be wrong.
People can like whatever boxers they want. It's subjective. There is no right and wrong answers. What you're saying is total bullshit.
Floyd fans, bombard this idiot with bad karma for that one. Let's turn that bar red. He's clearly not a real boxing fan. Just a Gatti fan.
You'd probably say the same thing about Gatti. People like different boxers. Don't take it personally.
I'd like to see this fight go the distance. I like both boxers, for different reasons, and I'd like to see both of them put in a good performance.
I think people who say Gatti doesn't have a chance at all are selling him short. He's definitely the underdog, but he does have a chance.
It's too bad I live in the wrong country to go see this fight, because it could be really good.

Yeah I wish you would've gotten front row tickets so you could see Gatti first hand get his ass handed to him.
Yea me too Id rather pay big money to watch Gatti lose than pay money to watch floyd fight in general...you couldnt pay me to watch floyd.
Gatti still wins this fight come June 25
ok call me crazy but I was wondering if the gatti of now had fought DLH would the results be any diffrent. For some reason I think there would be a differnce gatti is alot more of a boxer with better lateral movement then what yhe showed back then against DLH. He just stood infront of him and recieved alot of combos when he should have just kept his feet moving. Gatti landed some hard shots that I thought might have stunned DLH alittle but DLH didn't really allow gatti to get inside by keeping him on the edge of his jab. I was wondering if the current Gatti had fought DLH would he last longer or even have a shot at winning?
The fight better go past the 10th round, I want my moneys worth. Thats why I hate ordering ppvs for one fight only because if it ends quick I am out all that money...Which is why I enjoy Don Kings cards they are stacked and sure to go the distance.....
I definitely think this will go at least to the 6th or 7th. But if Gatti hasn't slowed Floyd down by then it will be disaster. I am rooting for Gatti and will lay down points on him (assuming he is an underdog) but I know Floyd has a better chance of pulling out the win.
As for Vivian, I've never heard so much about a fighter I have never seen. If he is of the style everyone here says he needs to match up with walk foward, power punchers. Much like JMM, who is dull in most fights, was exciting versus Pacman. He made a huge mistake in not taking the rematch though. The people in his position have made the choice to not be the draw by their style and they should realize that they won't get paid as much to be a dangerous opponent when they are not the one who has the built in audience.
Oh, and I am pissed that I didn't get tickets! By the time I got to them there were only the $1,000.00 tickets left. And I like Gatti but not that much! I would only pay $1,000.00 if I could go back in time and not know the outcome or happenings of Gatti - Ward I. I would also shell out that much under the same assumptions for Ali Frazier I or III, Marciano Walcott, Barrera Morales I and a few others. If I ever make tons of money the list will rapidly expand. :D
If Gatti puts the pressure on from the start, keeps his hands up, and doesn't let up, he'll get some chances to go to the body. When PBF feels that shit, he'll try to land some big shots to back Gatti off, and that's when it gets dangerous for PBF. Once Gatti get into punching range, he has pretty good handspeed, and puts punches together well. This isn't going to be the gimme fight that many think it is, if Gatti fights his fight.
i'll order it also,i will be pullng for gatti and dont think PBF will be as fast as most think,he will get caught good at time se we will have to see how he takes them...i ope bad and he gets his big-headed "i think i am the best" ass KTFO :boxing:

Floyd is, in Ali's words "Too fast, too pretty, and can't possibly be beaten!". lol, I hope Gatti beats him but I dont see how. Oh well, we'll see soon enough.
From a non bias standpoint really Gatti has size over floyd that is about it. I would say power but Mayweather has SUPER tight defense...Gatti could easily manhandle Mayweather if he wanted to and I predict he will. Gatti keeps saying how Floyd will have a different change of mind when he sees him across the ring. The best strategy for Gatti (and I am sure he knows this) is to come in heavy like the Gamache fight and hold Mayweather to tire him out. Mayweather isnt stronger than Gatti, but if Mayweather even thinks about going inside...Honestly Mayweather will get KO'D, Mayweather is still skin and bones at 140 and a crushing body blow would do the trick.
But I predict Gatti will stay on the outside and pop his jab and when Gatti puts his defense down and he will swarm him with a combination and embarrassing him into the late rounds and possibly getting a TKO....Floyd isnt featherfisted....Well maybe at 140.

Good call, a big event may bring out the best in Vivian, I couldn't blame him for acting bored in a non-televised title defense....but he better take a lesson from Zab Judah: take the short $ vs. an established champ, then cash in AFTER you win in spectacular fashion, Vivian's trying to have his cake & eat it too, he's gotta show us somethin' if he wants the big grits
Hell he cant even get chump change now....He might as well be INACTIVE. Right now Vivian is starting his career from scratch it seems like. Manny hasnt really been that much of a manager to Vivian either.
I'm going by the time I got through the only 2 tickets togther left were 300 each so I decided what the hell it will be my graduation and birthday present.
Sac-True his negotiating skills are shitty to hell and has made some bad choices, but I believe Vivian is one of those fighters that he needs another fighter to bring the best out in him. I could see him taking out the top guys at 140...He just needs a chance.

Vivian is ppv material when he gets his chance...A lot of people havent seen him but he is phenomenal.
Floyd has one of the best resumes in boxing today.
Corley
N'dou
Sosa
Castillo X 2
Chavez X 2
Hernandez
Corrales
Juuko
Genaro
Manfredy
One hell of a resume.
I agree with your assessment of Floyd's resume, I'd say it's one of the best in the sport at the moment....
but Vivian Harris being "phenomonal"??? The guy is a 7 outta 10 at best, he's got great balance, footwork, stamina, and technique, but he hasn't fought a power-puncher his entire career, has shown average punching-power of his own, and he cries his way out of fights on a monthly basis....I was at his fight vs. M'Baye (on the Mayorga-Forrest II undercard), he looked disinterested and flat for 12 rounds, it was a shameful performance to say the least
