Another fight that is quickly bearing toward its April date is the fight between welterweight contenders Antonio Margarito and Kermit Cintron. Both these guys have shown themselves to be entertaining to watch and the winner could get a shot at Zab sooner or later. I am really not sure who I like here, so I turn it to you all- who is going to win?
Makes sense, Cintron definitally looked winded against Reid- and what should be worrying is that Reid is not all that hard to hit. If he almost wore himself out before KO'ing Reid he is gonna have an even harder time against Margarito. That being said, I think I am gonna take the puncher in this one just because I am not sold on Margarito's chin... but don't quote me on that.
If Cintron catches Magarito early, it's nitey nite for him. After watching him vs Santos & getting stunned a few times, convinced me that 1 punch from that kid could end his night. Magarito should win based off his volume punching & experience. In that Reid fight, Cintron was getting gassed & quickly. Had that fight went on it could've turned out different. If the fight goes beyond 6, I'd have to favor Magarito.
This I totally agree with.
Cintron's chances expire around the 6th round IMO.
He will have the punchers chance untill that point.

Man as much as i like margarito, i am like 90% percent sure he will get TKO'ed, first off he cuts alot,2nd I doubt he can take cintrons power, margarito's the better boxer, but he's gotten wobbled by what i would consider, not weak punchers, but certainly not as strong as cintron.Im going with Cintron by mid TKO.but if margarito pulls this off, i will be his fan for life :boxing:
IMO Margarito should beat Cintron...I'm not sold yet on Cintron cuz I've only seen him fight once; But then again, its a Mexican vs Puerto Rican...and you know we ALLWAYS kick their culitos.. :D
Did you ACTUALLY just admit that a MEXICAN might beat a PUERTO RICAN????
haha nah just kiddin man. :D
I'll take Margarito by UD, simply based on his consistency and aggressiveness, I'm sure that Kermit will get in some good shots early in the fight, but he's never been truly attacked by a puncher the caliber of Margarito, my guess is that Cintron will begin to crumble around the 10th and hang on to get thru the 12th.
Boxing V.S. Boxing.
Ring Intelligence plays a key role in this fight. I am not sure who posseses more; regardless of their comparative experience ratios. Margarito has been in with the better opposition, yet Cintron has shown some excellent generalship, as well as power.
Margarito can be wobbled at points in a fight, however he begins to exchange. I feel that If Cintron hurts Antonio, they will go to war. Once this happens, Margarito will begin to box more and set up power shots with the jab, shortly after flurries.
The longer the fight goes on, the more it favors Margarito. If Cintron can get him out of there in less than 6 rounds....fine.
Otherwise I just see Margarito dragging him to the deep end of the pool and winning a late K.O. or decision.
Someone needs to include a "rematch" clause regardless.

Though this has been discussed over and over again ill again say,
Margarito will stop Cintron late in the fight. Margarito is a busy guy and will carry a fast pace the whole fight. He is too conditioned to get beat by Cintron in early part of the fight and the later part of the fight will favor Margarito as Cintron's endurance has been iffy.
