First off I will touch on the upcoming fight with Floyd Mayweather. Yes I believe and know Gatti is the underdog, but I still believe Gatti will win. He has the heart, and when he hurts PBF he will finish him.
And for the people who say look how Gatti performed against the Golden Boy, Oscar stopped him early and PBF will do the same. Wrong!!! The facts are Gatti moved up im weight to fight Oscar and Oscar proved to be too big. Now look at the facts, PBF is moving up in weight to fight Gatti. I see Gatti beefing up the day of June 25 and his thunderous left hook will inflict major damage on the body of mayweather and his face.
For the people who say Gatti has had no competion, he fought a journeyman in Ward, let me tell you something, Mickey Ward has more heart than Mayweather ever will have and then some. Branco was a game opponet, you people seem to underrate him a lot for reasons unknown, Dorin is a good fighter, fought Spadafora to a draw, Gatti was too big for him, and Leija, well Gatti shoulda fought Bojada (who I see this board puts him on the list of the the future superstars of the sport) but Leija beat Bojada. So Gatti gets Leija and Leija gets KO'd
And what really pisses me off is that the peole who say Gatti should retire after this fight win or lose. I say to that simply, bullshit!! This man this the only light in boxing today. After Mayweather he goes to fight maybe a Witter ,and a few other than, Vivian Harris, Zab Judah, and hopefully punish that Cotto fool!!
LONG LIVE ARTURO "THUNDER" GATTI
you cannot front on mayweathers skills...a natural if there ever was one...him winning on saturday would not suprise me for one moment...
then again...we are talking about arthuro gatti...you can't front on his boxing / fighting skills...i love the fact that gatti throws EVERY type of punch available...hooks...upper cuts...straight hands...jabs...killer body work ( which helps keep them " boxers " still )...and he does this in 5 to 6 punch combos with both hands...
gatti has the heart and skill needed to win a fight like this...along with the fact that he's the " home team "...convention hall baby...
gatti knocks him out by the seventh...unless floyd can out box him for twelve rounds...if so i see a split decision for mayweather...
Gatti has something that in our era of boxing we have not seen. He has heart,he doesnt retire for 2 years and comes back later when his opstacles are older,he doesnt quit after being dropped 3times and not beng hurt when he still has a chance to win the fight,he hasnt always been all about the money...h has true heart. Yes he doesnt have the best boxign skills (eventhough there getting better) but his will/power/heart will always give him a chance against anyone and whether he wins or loses on June 25,he will come out in people eye's as the man the showed up and came to fight with will and power and didnt hold back because he knew he wsnt as skilled. Gatti is something rare in our days but people should be glad that we have the man. I think gatti said it best:"Floyd doesnt sell the tickets,i sell seats"...if this were anyone else i would be pissed that they said it,but this line is true, gatti with his trilogy against ward brought a lot of heart and attention to boxing again and he will try his heart out against PBF,and if it goes into late rounds and he knows he's behind on the card's he will make it war,so hell yeah he has a chance.
Hahaha, okay man. If he sells seats and I'm not disputin he does, a big part of that reason was left out of your long ass biased post.
If he has a huge fan base, at his fights that's good but most of the time, IMAGE is just that and not the man. I bet his image was carefully crafted along with his gutty performances even in defeat to perpetuate this Graziano like persona.
Well, my memory's longer than that. He's a tough guy who's put on some good fights. It's ridiculous to see all the rabid support he seems to have based on his nickname and the overestimation of his capabilities. It demonstrates just how ignorant some of you are. Not dumb. Ignorant. Lacking wisdom. Only Time and Experience can provide you with that. You're not born with it.
Observing the events that unfold in their upcoming fight will go a long way to wiseing some of you up if you're observant.
So ... pay attention.
Gatti's fights have been HIGHLY entertaining, and that's all I ask when I tune in to watch a fight or pay for a ticket. The guy never gives up and gives it his all. You get your money's worth when you watch him fight, and that's all anyone can ask.
Whether he's as skilled a boxer as PBF or not is beside the point.
The Boardwalk casino sold out in a couple of hours for what fans hope will be a good fight, and I don't think they will be disappointed.
I respect mayfeather's skills but it befuddles me how a true fight fan can have no respect for Gatti. Listen, he's fought who he's fought and the results, for better or worse, speak for themselves.
I never did like Mayfeather's general attitude outside the ring but i truly hope he is dissing Gatti for the sole purpose of selling tickets and not doing it becasue he disrepects Gatti and his career as a boxer. If he really has no appreciation for what Gatti has done for the sport of boxing then i will never have any respect for that phoney balony.
What kind of boxing "fans" are you that dont respect Gatti. And respect a women beating arrogant punks like Judah and Mayweather over a class act like Gatti. Gatti had power when he fought at 130 pounds where he was IBF Champion that is what allowed to beat tough opponents such as the Spaniard Rodriguez. But he was killing himself to make the 130 limit. Now that he is at 140 pounds and is older his strength is fully realized..
Gatti will hit pretty boy floyd with a left hood to liver and Floyd will go down. Then Floyd will get up and get hit with a Left hook to the head, and after a couple of straight rights another left hook to the liver then Gatti will stand over Mayweather's limp corpose and say "how do you like that boy" and this time Mayweather overrated punk ass will stay down and hopefully retire in fear of ever recieving another thrashing as damaging of what he recieved at the hands of Arturo Thunder Gatti.
I concur. Pretty Boy Floyd aint gonna be pretty no more when Gatti gets done with him.

LONG LIVE ARTURO "THUNDER" GATTI
I with you, I really think Gatti has a good chance of hurting PBF, Comparing the Oscar fight and saying PBF will do the same is stupid. Oscar was a solid 147 on his way to 154 he was way bigger and taller and Gatti and hits way harder than PBF. I think Gattin can hurt PBF if he goes to the body.

LONG LIVE ARTURO "THUNDER" GATTI
Well, I don't want him to get killed either but he's probably gonna get a hella too close for comfort taking this fight! Good payday though.
I dont think it will be a surprise if Floyd is able to take some of Gatti's shots. Afterall, Floyd has been in with Chico Corrales and Jose Castillo for a total of 34 rounds.
Gatti presents NOTHING Floyd hasn't seen before. Gatti can only hope Floyd has an off night.
I agree that Gatti won't surprise Floyd with his style, but Floyd never really got hit in his fights with Chico or Castillo, although Castillo probably landed the cleaner shots of the two IMO. Both also tried to jab Floyd from the outside, which I could kind of understand in Chico's case, but not Castillo's. IMO, Gatti's only chance is to just keep his hands up and bumrush Floyd, run him into the ropes, roughhouse him and bang the body, even if it's only elbows lol. Put so much pressure on him that he'll have no choice but to try to hurt Gatti to keep him off, and then Gatti will have his best chance to do his thing. That's what I mean when I say this could be a good fight if Gatti makes it one. Now, I realise there is little chance of Gatti wanting it bad enough to go all out like that, as I'm sure he truly believes in his boxing skills, but to me that's his only chance and if he doesn't take it then that's his problem.
floyd wins this fight EASILY.
what is it with all these people thinking gatti is an all-time great?
i love watching him fight, he's a warrior no doubt, but come on now...
He's no all-time great and anyone who thinks he is clearly is delusional. He's a nice fighter who gives the fans a good show but nothing more.
Well, I guess it is kind of a good defense when you can take body shots like Ward can, I wonder if Floyd can? I'm sure of one thing, Floyd will get hit during this fight, the question is will he surprise us with his ability to take a punch?

He most certainly will. People make it seem like Gatti has Tszyu-like power. Floyd will get hit, but to everyone's surprise he will absorb those hits.
Yeah, Gatti has some power, but of the few qualities he does have, I was always more impressed with his ability to put punches together, and the way his punch output doesn't usually fall off too much down the stretch. Of course this only comes in to play if he can keep Floyd in front of him, so I guess we'll see. This fight could be a good one if Arturo makes it one...
Gatti had better bring his track shoes though, because Floyd always does lol
the question is will he surprise us with his ability to take a punch?

The Gatti-Mayweather fight should be entertaining at the least, but Mayweather is just too good for Arturo.
Also, I think Arturo's punching power is slightly overrated. In his BIGGEST fights his punching power was damn near non-existent. Where was all his power at against WARD, MANFREDY and IVAN ROBINSON?
I'll give him credit for stopping Dorrin so fast, but lets be serious... Dorris was beaten by Raul Balbi in their first fight.
Plus, Dorrin had NO POWER at Lightweight, so of course he had less than nothing at Jr. Welterweight. He was a safe fight for Gatti.
Mayweather has been in with SUPERIOR fighters like Corrales and Castillo. He's going to SMASH Gatti.
