SALT LAKE CITY, United States (AFP) - Former world heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe plans to continue his boxing comeback here later in March and hopes for another bout next month in his hometown of Washington.
The Salt Lake Tribune reported Tuesday that Bowe, 38, would fight Willie Chapman of nearby Ogden here on March 25 even as Bowe awaits word from officials in Washington about licensing for a possible April 23 bout.
Arena officials here announced the Bowe-Chapman bout although Utah Athletic Commission officials have not given final approval, the same permission Bowe would need from the Washington D.C. Boxing Commission.
Bowe, 41-1 with 33 knockouts, had been retired for almost eight years before making a comeback last September, stopping fellow American Marcus Rhode in the second round on an Oklahoma reservation for Native Americans.
Chapman is 18-20 with three drawn and five knockouts.
Bowe, who weighed 263 pounds in his return, was released from prison in 2003 after being incarcerated for 17 months after the 1998 abduction of his wife.

Does Bowe have anything left? Or do you think he is just going to be another sad story in boxing?
Do you think Bowe vs Tyson will happen?
Don't know, but Im sure that would be a sell out! :boxing:
Who do you think would win? I haven't really seen Bowe fight since he came back, bu I have seen Tyson and he wasn't to bad, so I say Tyson! :boxing:
It will be intereting to see how many people actually go to this seeing as we have never had a fight in the delta center before. Biggest thing Salt Lake has ever had is Tough Man.
Its kinda nuts Riddick Bowe is still fighting a decade after his prime. I like Bowe but I think pretty soon one of those thrid raters he's fighting will show him why he shouldn't still be in the ring.
