Bad Chin-Julio Gonzales, Augie Sanchez, Jesse James Leija.
So So Chin-Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, Naseem Hamed.
each of those fighters were floored more times than Roy was ever even hurt as a pro (3 times-Ruiz right hand, Tarver left hand, Johnson left/right).
This means that the whole carrier RJJ was so fast and has so good refexes to avoid taking a good punches. Right after the lost of speed and reflex he become volunerable to taking the shots and it become obvious he have a very poor "chin".
To the Wlad, he definitely get KOed by Sanders, but Sanders has one of the most powerfull punches in HW. I doubt the Brewster case counts, he was so exosted he just couldn't raise his hands. Brewster start punch him like a bag and was not able to land him on the flor and count out.

With that logic Wlad has a solid chin as well. Please. :thumbsdow
Bro, a heavyweight with average power does not have to be the equivalent of a power punching light heavyweight if the said heavyweight is not allowed to fight his game. No one is saying that RJJ's chin is glass, but he does have a bad to so so chin. If he had a solid chin like you believe then he wouldn't have balked at fighting every good power puncher that he could have fought.

Bro, a heavyweight with decent power has gotta be equivalent to a power punching light heavyweight.....and if u can consistently take decent punches, that pretty much says your chin is decent, or maybe im crazy....bottom line, Roy Jones November 2003 and before had a solid chin.

I understand that you don't like facts and that you can't understand the difference between decent power and being a power puncher, but that's just too bad. Nady is relevant because he didn't let Ruiz hold and hit Jones like he does in all of his fights.

dude...Ruiz fought holyfield like 6 years ago, Donald fought him a few months ago.....same Holyfield dat was dropped by Ruiz took Rahman shots......and only an ignorant boxing conniseur would guage a fighter's power with his record, in that case Duran had average punching power since he went the distance about 30 times.
PS: How is Nady relevant in this conversation?

How do you figure KT to have a bad chin. The loss to Phillips had nothing to do with him getting hit in the chin.
Umm dude in Hopkins previous 8 fights before he got a shot for the vacant IBF MW belt he was 8-0 with 4 KOs . He was not a power puncher. Gilbert Baptist took him the distance when a real power puncher McClellan took him out in less than 2 minutes. 22 wins with only 7 KOs does not equal power puncher. 68 wins with 43 KOs does not equal power puncher. Like it or not Larry Donald nearly dropped Holyfield, Holyfield has been shot for years, so that means nothing, and regardless the last time I checked Nady wasn't the ref for that fight. We really need to get the Power Punching Specialist in here.

Hopkins would decimate a watermelon with accurate precison. I have the utmost faith that he would.
:boxing:
As far as he being a big puncher. You are absolutely right. He is not.

ummmmm Dude, early in Hopkins career he was an unpolished power puncher...as for u thinking Harding didnt hit hard i must refer to a statement made by a commentator "One way to measure a fighter's power is to look at the physical damage it does the the opponents body", Now if breaking ribs and a jaw in 12 rounds doesnt represent that I dont know what does....Toney wasnt a one puncher, but he did hit hard and roy took that same left hook that sent Nunn to the contendor's list and smiled....and i aint sure if u realize it but Ruiz was fightin a smaller Roy Jones, and like it or not Ruiz dropped Holyfield so there must have been some kind of power there.

Obviously Hopkins is not a power puncher. Hall yes, Harding (hopefully you are joking), Toney no, Ruiz hardly counts because Nady was the ref. Ruiz wouldn't be able to beat anyone if was ref for all of his fights. Face it, RJJ's chin subpar.

1/3 of the people who have been brought up on this thread don't have bad chins. They aren't Hagler or MArciano but they don't have Michael Grant chins.

You as well add Wlad and Morrison to that list then as well...
Hmmmmmmm....Hopkins wasnt a hard puncher when roy fought him?, How about Richard Hall, Eric Harding (who gave tarver a beating, broken jaw/ribs) ohh ohhhhh and what about that guy name James Toney?.....wait wait wait there was this one guy who hit hard enough to hurt Evander Holyfield...i think his name was John Ruiz who is a heavyweight.....bottom line, Roy doesnt have a weak chin.

Thats a classic response to the thread. Big bird I do believe has a suspect chin. In the lost footage of seasame street i had heard there was footage of big bird and oscar getting into it. I didnt see and dont know the outcome but i heard that big bird never stuck his chin in oscars garbage can again.
Again Runw/knives, great response :You_Rock_
I disagree Rockin.
Big Bird's chin is not suspect. It is really non-existent. Opponents may find it difficult to land punches on his chin. The point of the "beak" would be an excellent option.

I heard that he was giving Snuffy shit over his depression and Snuffy gave him a nasty uppertrunk that sent him reeling.

Sorry bro, but you're wrong there. Every shot the prince has ever taken, was taken well. Never knocked out.
Sorry dude but i seen Hamed stunned a little too often, he jus does that running and dodgin stuff until he lands his own punch...rememba Barrera rocked him with a jab, lmao
Avoiding all of the hardest hitters at every weight class you fight at = bad chin.
