Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, said Wednesday that Bernard Hopkins will now be defending all four of his championship belts against Howard Eastman on Saturday at Staples Center.
Hopkins changed his mind, Schaefer said at Wednesday's final news conference, and has told him he will also defend his World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization belts.
Schaefer said negotiations were still ongoing regarding the sanctioning fees, which Hopkins would like to see reduced.
Not so much....after 20 defenses I would assume that you sort of take winning for granted and I think that Bernard is going into this fight cockier than he has the others...just something to think about...
Not really. Remember that the 20th is Hopkins' dream. And I think that's one of the reason for his success. Because people don't stop working hard till they reach their goal. So I think Hopkins' gonna be hungrier because he's almost to the peak of the mountain he has been climbing for the past years.
I wonder how much the fee for all four? Anyone know?
Now he is really makin his 20th defense...Eastman by KO! :boxing:
You're an annoying sack of shit. Didn't you say Bruceles would beat Mayweather as well?
Get your shit togethor.
I'm glad Hopkins is putting up all 4 belts, it wouldnt be right if Eastman won but wasnt the divisons main champion.
Shame Nard has to pay a lot more in sanction fee's though.
Maybe Hopkins got tired carrying all those heavy belts to the ring and out of the ring. Maybe he thought because he is the man and everybody knows it , it wouldn't matter if he only brought one.
Then people started bitching and now he's like ok ok bitches I'll bring all the belts down the ring and carry them out when I'm doing beating the hell out of Eastman.
True but now Hopkins has four times the reason to put a beating of Eastman. ;)

he is puttign em all up cause this might be his last fight or he is leaving middleweight divsion for lightheavy and maybe he doesnt want the middle to be liek heavy with 4 belts in different hands
Wow, why he would do that? Economically it doesn't make any sense to all of the sudden decide to pay more sanctioning fees for a fight that has already been made.
