Besides John Ruiz, Byrd is the most boring champion there has ever been. Nobody likes to see him fight and if they do it's just because they want to see him get KTFO. He brings down boxing and its TV ratings. I used to ask people why they don't like boxing and they told me that the fighters today aren't worth watching on a Friday or Saturday night. Fighters like Byrd are a prime example of this.

If Wlad had a title right now, he would have won it against Davarryl Williamson, and still would not have redeemed himself following either the Brewster loss or the Sanders loss. Point being, Byrd has proven his worth even after the bad loss to Wlad, and Barrett seems to be at a better point in his career than Wlad. So, if Klitschko were doing really well right now, and Byrd chose not to fight him, he would be taking the coward's way out. But he's not. He's doing really, really poorly. Don't try putting lipstick on this pig. It's a bad fight. Especially compared to the other options. And the quotation marks around easy are unnecessary, since I never said it'd be an easy fight. As a matter of fact, I think Klitschko will always pose certain stylistic problems for Byrd. Does that mean he'd be Byrd again? No. It means Byrd would lose two or three rounds. This just in Barrett has not been doing that much better. You and other people simply expect Wlad to dominate everyone every time he fights. Every single one of Barrett's recent fights have been close unlike Wlad's even though he lost one of them.

Almost no crowd noise at all. And if that's how the crowds really are in Germany (corpus quiet) I don't blame Byrd for not wanting to go back there. It would suck, to fight in front of a crowd that didn't have a pulse. It is true though, he got some beautiful skills and is a very good boxer. I cant take it away from him. But I just dont like him, Guy just cant keep his mouth shut. Gee, you just described about 80% of the pro boxers in every division..."Guy just can't keep his mouth shut". I like Byrd ok as a guy, but I'm not thrilled about his fighting. He's slick, always was, but it gets boring after awhile. I'd like to see him have another fight, maybe 2, and then quit boxing and move to HBO sports and become a full time commentator. He's intelligent, well spoken, very knowledgable of the sport (of course), and respectful when speaking of other boxers...mostly. And what's truly important, he speaks ENGLISH, not ebonics, or whatever that shit Roy Jones spews when he's there. I enjoyed it when Byrd was there for an evening, and would like to see him back again permanently, since Big George isn't going to come back (I miss that big, dumb bastard ;) )
