Chavez Jr. 16 - 0 ?

You guys have to remember this kid has absolutely NO Amateur background. Of course they arent gonna put him in against anyone but amateurs. BTW its funny but the toughest guy he faced imo was on his dad's farewell fight, the kid looked like he had boxing experience and was pretty decent untill Jr. Landed a killer shot that sent him to the canvas. Also he might never reach the heights his father reached (lets face it, its hard to even get close his father is a legend.), but he will be champ and a force to be reckoned with. He is 18, he is more efficient with his punches than Juan Diaz, he stays collected under fire, he's got some pop in his punches, and his physique is incredible for a kid that age as well.

He will not be as good as his father simply because his father had a harder life growing up which led him to become a hardened fighter. Those early experiences living a hard life is what made his father hungry and with incredible drive. It's the same reason why Marvis Frazier wasn't as good as Joe Frazier and Hector Camacho Jr. wasn't as good as his father. There is no way a rich kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth will have the same hunger and intensity as someone who came from the streets.

ya have you ever seen a GREAT CHAMPIONS kid become a all time great? He will not be like his father...He has not lived like his father

I read today that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is now 16 - 0. Has anyone seen this kid fight? Does he have any skill or is his record being puffed up against Tijuana Cab drivers? thats extacly how chavez sr bulit up his record..by fighting in mexico against guys who cant really fight just needing money to support their family

I hope this kid's management steps up the level of his compitision, he's already been in the unercards of some pretty good fight cards. And I think it's time to stop just getting attn. off just the name and show he really can fight.--- from what i've seen of him I think hes a pretty talented fighter.

yeah 100 more wins a championship and he can be ranked just below his dad. julio senior greatest of all time. julio junior will never be like him. but he can be a good/great champ. but it is way too early to say. some people say he is 18, some say 16 or 17. he is a young kid. what do you expect him to be fighting....top 10 fighters? he is young and developing. and he does have skill. it was said within a year he will be fighting a name fighter. now that don't mean a top 10, maybe a journeyman or a guy that is there to test young fighters.

I've seen like 4 of his fights and he looks good but his opposition is really low quality, ive never seen him hit hard. He appears to have skills but nothing too special, he still looks like he's 14 years old as well.

The guy he fought last night looked pretty fit physically, but he couldn't box for shit..

ya not much difficult oppostion but he def has skills he does fight like his dad from the way he moves punches the combinations he throws only diff hes almost 6ft only thing i need to see of him to think hell be a good fighter is how he takes a punch ive seen him fight 3 times and never seen him take a clean or big punch
