If you could pick a fighter under the heavyweight limit to knockout a heavyweight fighter or even go the distance and win on decision who would you choose and why?
My pick Tszyu, this guy is a phenom. His precision and power could hurt anybody at will.
Runner Up-If his chin holds up, Ricky Hatton this guy works the body unlike anybody I have seen and a lot of the heavyweights today would get killed by bodywork.
Your picks and why!
ya
What about Jermaine Taylor's speed, thoughts?
I mean the guy has some pop on his shots, just not sure if
he'd drop a heavy.
Not at all, No chance, unless it's wlad then you could say so,
i was serious bout ivan calderon knocking out Wlad by the way...
Especially Wlad or Cliff Ettiene.
especially with his 4 kos out of 21 wins....
imagine getting knocked out by him, imagine how ebarrasing that would be!! lol
i met the guy so i'm cool with him it's just funny
First off the question is could any guy under 200 KO a fighter over 200.
I think that Morales could beat a heavyweight. Maybe one of those guys that Vitaly Klitscko beat in his first 5 fights.
As far as who could make the trip up as a professional fighter and compete with the heavyweights like Byrd and Toney and Jones did, Lacy has the strength, but not enough height.
I don't this there is any fighter under 200 right now that can threaten VK.
Wayne Braithwaite could KO alot of the heavies I reckon!
Exactly..he is my pick...too many people are picking Zoo and Tito...these guys are just too small...Tito may have a shot but not Zoo he weighs a 140 fucking pounds...there are only a couple guys out there that fit this threads description and the big truck seems to me to be one of those guys.
Jeff Lacy(although he likely ways over 200). How unfair for his division. No wonder he beats everybody up.
I think Lacy beats everyone up because he hasnt fought a good fighter yet, i'd really like to see Green vs Lacy.
a lot of punchers above 140 can TKO a HW via accumulation of sharp punches.
trinidad sparred a fres oquendo and rumors said he handled him , they say that b hops spars HW from time to time and punish them.
and BTW , how are you doin british retard ?
All the better for speaking to you, at least now theres someone on the forum with a lower IQ than me. :D
Tsyzu,Trinidad, and plenty of other top pros would handle the majority of heavyweights on the planet. By heavyweight I simply mean people who weigh over 200 pounds. Non-boxers and toughman fighters most of them. Even a huge muscular guy like a prime Arnold Swarchenegger would impress me immensely if he lasted an entire round with Mayweather, let alone Trinidad.
But if you are talking about a top fifty professional HW, I think a handful of guys have the power to do so. The biggest factor would be that most heavyweights would hurt them easily, and with only glancing blows, while they would need a direct hit to even stagger let alone knock down a heavyweight. If you gave Trinidad a motorcycle helmet and body vest so he didn't have to worry about getting hit in return, he could hurt a lot of heavyweights.
When a true puncher hits you, you're going to feel it, unless you are one of those rare people who have a great jaw. Sometimes that isn't even enough as Willard was huge and iron chinned and yet Dempsey's power crushed him regardless.
There are small guys out there that have the power to KO a heavyweight with a direct hit, but the odds of them delivering that power before getting KO'ed themselves are very slim.
Jeff Lacy(although he likely ways over 200). How unfair for his division. No wonder he beats everybody up.
serioulsy doubt that
he doesnt look that big
and if he does
its cuz hes so damn short
hes only 5'9 and fights at 168
his size n figure looks right to me
Yeah, you could be right. You just never know with all the weight fluctuations that occur between the time these fights are scheduled, the weigh-in, and the actual fight. But God Almighty, he looks huge every time he's on.
yeah he looks like a pocket-bob sapp.
No unanimous decision.Lacy's power isn't that great but he has the size and he wears guys down with a load of punches(Don't know how Sheika stayed on his feet)
Damn, WHY was I thinking that fight ended early?? :o Now thats a tad embarassing :D (thats IT "S"..no more tapes for you!! :p :D )
Lacy shots look and sound hard but i dont think he's a KO puncher, if you watch a fighter like Cotto he can make KO's look effortless!
Oh when he first started out he was knocking out everybody, but then again I'm sure he was placed in there with the right opposition too..they all are in the beginning. But that's what I meant..he's not knocked out anyone..not a TRUE knockout, in quite a while, and theyre 'supposed' to be his size and from what I've always heard, Sheika doesnt have the best chin ever and he only got a tko with him, so I doubt he could take out a heavy. I like him, alot, but I see limitations, and he has a few of them ;)
i doubt he is over 200 , he enters the ring at 180 IMO

I like Lacy, but I keep thinking that his power is a bit overrated maybe?? I mean, he's not had a good knockout in a while against guys his own size..Sheika was a tko, wasnt it??
